So a while ago I tossed out the idea of a little art contest on your concept of what Sweetie Belle looks like in the latest published chapters of TSC!
While I was totally not expecting anyone to sign up for it, two individuals actually sent me art! And thus, they have not only won access to the edits document and will be able to read the last part of the story before anyone else... they also get to chat with us while we edit—during the whole editing process—therefore not missing a chance to catch either Rusty or me or any of the editing team as we polish and maul the first draft into its final form! They also get to see the teaser for the following chapter too!

Yay! (I use that first pic as my desktop background) Sweetie looks awesome! Both are far better than I can draw, that's for sure.
I really need to find some time to read your story. The concept sounds really interesting from what I've heard.

I would, if my art was actually legit to be called art.
Both of them look cool, I'd go with the first one if I had the choice. Overall, either of them can fit for a story of this caliber.

The expression on the second one reminds me of the chapter with Sweetie's double, the left-over bits of her personality after becoming a changeling.
My vision of Sweetie more resembled the Changlings of the series, mostly giving Sweetie the Changling exoskeleton. Given my artistic capabilities, I thought it best not to draw it, but I may post here after a bit with my best MS paint rendition.
Update: Tried that... Literally just turned Sweetie Belle grey... with spikes... I tried, and hope that I may somehow with your favor, or pity if we are using our artistic talents, enough to gain access to the story faster.
(Also, I tend to be a wee bit obsessive when I enjoy something, and fail to play it anywhere resembling 'cool.')
That being noted... I would /REALLY/ enjoy getting a few extra glimpses into the story.

Ow ow ow ow ow....those spikes look painful to run into.
Seeing mine here makes me realize how much work it needs. Definitely need to make it a little more refined and less sketchy, different pose/expression, and add a background. Also i'm honestly surprised there is only two especially with how much time you gave. Overall the first one is a much better pic though I think her fur could look a little more marble-y. As for mine getting the ratio of marble and obsidian was interesting to play around with. I didn't see the mane described anywhere so I just assumed it would remain the same. Hope to have some more free time so I can expand on it a bit more.

I really like their interpretation there with the cutie mark and that corruption looking stuff. More art! <3
The first one is just plain awesome, but...doesn't look like Sweetie. More like a young Rarity or an OC...
The second pic is clearly Sweetie, and clearly TSC Sweetie from her demeanor. The "scales" are much more like what I'd expect to see on a BttM changeling, and more specifically the shards Sweetie absorbed than #1's needles.
My own vision of her has obsidian hooves and cannons, which gradually fade(now as scales, but it was smoother...I really like the imagery in #2) into an equally hard ivory coat. When she summons her shards, they are the shards she absorbed in the first place. Not uniform or needle-like, but horrendous obsidian like broken glass...

2296475 The story itself has a fair few bits of fanart, but I haven't seen anything recently beyond these two if that's what you mean.
Both are awesome, though neither is quite how I picture Sweetie. I'd have offered my own interpretation, but there's a frustrating disconnect between the images in my head and the ones I try to draw.

She's a tough cookie though, and I like that.
