Half a year ago I teased a sequel to Old Friends. At the time I thought I was days or weeks from publication, but I nearly immediately lost all drive and it's sat unfinished in my Google Drive since then. This morning I got off my ass and finished it, and it's currently in the hands of my prereaders. I'm hoping to have it up in a few days.

To be sure, but the subject matter itself...quite honestly scares me severely, and don't get me started on the feels the first one got going either.

I guess I'll say that the sequel is darker, in my opinion, but only because it swings a little harder towards the dark as well as the light. It strives to maintain the original's neutral, possibly-a-touch-reassuring theme, but it's a more painful journey for those involved.

Not a bad idea! It is indeed a direct sequel, not a "spiritual sequel" or just a story set in the same universe. It won't make any sense without reading Old Friends first, and indeed utterly spoils it. I'm actually kind of worried that people will ignore my warnings in the description/author notes... but, oh well.
