So I found some old comments that I had made on other people's stories, and saw that they had replies to which I had never been notified. I know for a fact that I had never been notified of them, as they were of (then) recent vintage, and were new to me. This fact had been percolating in the back of my mind for a while, but a recent conversation with a friend put a new thought in my head, to wit: why not see if this is the cause of my new stories low attention stats.
Yes, there's no denying it. My two most recent stories (granted, one of them was just a one-shot, AU of another author's story made with permission) aren't exactly breaking any records (personal or public) in terms of stats. So I decided to see if the cause of this was the site, or my story's contents (all OC cast). Now, I'll grant you that an all OC cast would be a turn-off for most people, but I have to wonder if that alone is enough to make people hit the back button without even reading. Please. If you number among the (as of this posting) 676 people who follow me for my stories, let me know in this blog post that you still exist, drop me a line, tell me to sod off, think my new story stinks (though I beg you to leave a reason why), whatever. I just want to make sure that the people who do follow me are still getting notifications of my updates, new stories, blog posts, etc. This of course does not apply if you already commented on the story. I know you received notification.
I'd like to announce that this experiment has been successful in that I found out it's my own craptacular decisions that are the cause and not the site. I thank all who participated and am requesting everyone else to just ignore the previous request for replies. I realize now just how needy that sounds, and hope that I didn't bother any of you with my whining.

[I saw your notification of the new story, but I was too busy reading other fanfics and doing, ugh, "responsible" stuff.]
The lack of notification seems to stem from the reply being on a different chapter from the original comment (the site doesn't seem to be able to handle that effectively) It can also sometimes happen if they're on different pages of comments, but that happens less frequently.
As for your stories, I enjoyed the one-shot, but your continuing one just didn't hook me, and I'll admit part of that was probably the all OC cast.

Fire & Rain wasn't an all OC story. Sure, it had a couple moments where there was focus on an OC, but it wasn't the entire story. Wind and Stone though... that's definitely my favorite all OC story out there, even though it doesn't have many views at all.

As for this, I just haven't gotten around to reading any stories lately..damn real life....but yeah, I'm receiving this loud and clear.
I'm reading a lot of fic.
I read two first book of twilighxchereliextrixiexspitfire in one trait, but for no special reason, I'm just a little slower on the third, probably because of the change in plain sight life.
And I don't think I'll read the prequel you are writing, because to be frank, I'm not interested in that story. I don't read only for the clop, but what interest me is the character's story, I don't really like the plot with the ancient princess, reincarnation, etc... It's interesting, but in that story I only find it out of place. It touch only twilight and her friends.
Her concubines are only here in second place.
So, if they are absolutely not in another fic supposed to be set in the same universe, that doesn't interest me.
As for your other works, I'll probably read them when I'll finish my read later and favorite list (so not soon).

Hey, Wrabbit. I've actually just recently come off a pony hiatus, but looking at the last two, I personally don't have too much interest in them. All OC casts have a hard time interesting me, as its the few canon characters I enjoy that draw me to a story, even if they're in more of a support capacity. All OC just kinda throws things into the bushes for me, and it's usually not worth the effort. The other one, well, gotta be in the mood to read sex stuff still. Probably have a small issue where most folks followed you for the dynamics you had going between Twi and her herd, and the others just don't compare after the previous works.
Hope life has been treating you well and stuff, too.
I know it says the experiment is concluded, but I am gonna toss in my two cents anyway.
It's mostly just a matter of a relatively high backlog for me to read, other projects, and Minecraft. I just...haven't gotten to it yet. Though prequel nature of the story, all things considered, has probably contributed to the low priority "One of these Days" has.
I am still here though.

Just to precise, it's not because your casts are with OC that I'm slow reading your fics.
It's just that the pot interests me less and less.
I really like Plain Sight, but her constant indecision and the fact that her situation with twilight doesn't evolve at all, I feel it displeasing. (the word it too strong for I want to say but I can't find another.)
As for the herd, I find the story is too centered on Twilight. Even the chapters dedicated to the herd looks more like plot filling than character story.
(I have tendency to do the contrary, I'm too focused on the characters of my stories than the plot.)
Just by curiosity, after you finish the prequel, will you make a fourth book of Twilight and her herd ?
