    Yo

Oh man I've been buuuuuuuuuuuusy. Like, so much so. Just moved town and had to get everything situated in a new house. Plus, I've finally adopted a kiddo, so I got that going for me, which is great. More difficult than I ever thought it would, but the wife and I managed to get everything down pat (for now at least).

Whelp I Guess I Should Mention My Vacation Thingy

Lemme tells ya, trying to find a decent internet reception in Miami sucks balls. But on the bright side they have incredibly fruity drinks over here, which is rad.

Also holy fuck so much shit in my feed message. Haven't checked Skype in a long time. So many things. So little time.

    ...

Eh. So how are you guys doing?

Fucking New Years, Am I Right? · 7:24am Jan 1st, 2014

This is amazingly accurate for the first week or so.

So, ye ponies of bronydism, the old year has been vanquished and a new one has risen to take its place! Definitely has a Game of Thrones vibe to it, that's for sure. And as we bid farewell to this year of old and commemorate this year of new, time to look back and then look forward to these years and reflect on how the hell we'll survive another one.

Best Story on the Site for 2013:
Biblical Monsters
Hey, if you know me long enough, then you know this is one of my all time favorite stories on the site. Heck, I'd throw real dollars on this fic if I could. Really a must read to anyone who likes a good tragedy (that actually uses the tag correctly).

Best Change on the Site for 2013:
Really, it'd have to be the sequel tagging. Very useful function and easy to use for all authors everywhere that want to let their readers know a new story related to the previous is out.

Worst Change on the Site for 2013:
Story fucking tagging blog posts. I cannot stress how much I dislike this with as much of a burning passion as I can muster. People would abuse the shit outta this feature. One time it was to ask his followers what Pokemon game to get, another was literally just how many words the next chapter has (nothing else, just the number), and yet another was for a philosophical question not even related to the story! This really annoys the hell outta me, and until the feature to have an option to turn off this feature for my feed is present, I shall continue to dislike it.

My Best Story on the Site for 2013:
Gotta say, Longevity was both my hardest story to write, yet the most enjoyable one as well. Heck, I even got this sweet fanfiction reading of it as well. Though it being my favorite to write may change with the future being bright and open for new fics and all that.

My Worst Story on the Site for 2013:
None because all my stories are awesome and stuff. Swag.

Best Vidja Game of 2013:
Grand Theft Auto V.

Was there really any doubt?

Best Movie of 2013:
Frozen. For one simple reason.

Move over princesses, hello Queen Elsa!

Best Art of 2013:

Source
Yusssssss. So much yus! It has Discord, awesomeness, Discord, a little bit of Celestia and Luna, Discord, and did I mention Discord? Can't wait for more great art in 2014 as well!

Best Song of 2013:

I am a HUGE fan of Ces Cru, and I have replayed this song too many times to tell. And sorry folks, but I've never really listened to brony music much. Like… ever.

Best Personal Event of 2013:
Hard to pick out all of accomplishments of this year, but a recent one that struck true and really made me realize life is worth living is when I finally decided to watch the tv show Fireflies on Netflix. It really struck a cord with me, and deeply affected everything about me as a person. And yeah, I guess getting married and stuff is important too.

Best/Worst Authors on the Site for 2013:
Saved the best for last, folks! This awesome fucker right here is the best author I have ever had the pleasure to read from, while this awful piece of shit shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard for the betterment of humanity. And that's about it.

So, what can you expect from Bobby in the coming year? Hopefully completing some fics and updates, my inspiration be willing. Ooh, and I have some really good ideas for the future. Such as a crossover with one of my favorite books. American Gods, to be specific. It can pretty much be summed up with this.

The idea is that in Equestria, there are spirits instead of gods. Since Discord, the closest thing we have to a god on the show, is the Spirit of Chaos. And in this world there are new spirits and old spirits, each side clamoring for control and power over the other. Twilight is the newest spirit to join the gang, and with Discord giving up his Spirit of Chaos title after being reformed, the balance of power is tipped, leading to a struggle and eventual battle between the spirits of old and new unless Twilight can stop them. Oh Discord, always having to be that kid kicking the hornet's nest, aren't ya?

Of course, this means I get to make spirits for each of the races! Diamond dogs will most likely get a Roman/Greek type of pantheon, along with the minotaurs well. Gryphons will get the good ol' Norse, while the zebras will probably get an ancestral chain of deities and the buffalo the Native American gods. Oh man, it's gonna be super exciting building this universe and the bunch of awesome characters in it!

Next up, of course, is humans. I really wanna take more cracks at serious human and pony relations. Such as the impact of magic in the human world, marketing and technology in the pony world, and how interactions between the two can lead to both great strides and great atrocities as well. There'll be crime.

And another idea of mine was how we would react to the alicorns. I mean, they're immortal. Actual immortal beings right before us. You know how many humans, particularly those in important seats of power would do literally anything to live forever? I'm thinking that finding out the secret of immortal magic from the ponies would be top of the list of some of the seedier humans from Earth. But there's good stuff as well. Equestria is basically a huge Disney World, except ponies. I'm guessing little girls everywhere would flock to the place to have their princess dreams come true with a unicorn. And I'm guessing that a few ponies would be fascinated with the human world as well. Think of it… we have an entire collection of porn of all types and fetishes that are just a mouse click away! Hallelujah!

Oh, and interesting idea I always wanted to try. A human that was raised by minotaurs, but doesn't know he's a human. Probably an epic adventure type of fic dealing with screwing destiny and prophecies and growing up.

Plus, found awesome cover art for it, so why not?

Tell me what you guys think of my spewed out ideas, and who else is excited for a brand new year of writing?

Pretty sure the gym is like that every day.

>TFW someone stealing expletive new year's blog post title

Also, yes, Frozen is by far the best movie to come out this year. God, I love that movie.

Aw, not using the art I found, then?

Best Story on the Site for 2013: Biblical Monsters

I wasn't wowed by it myself, but it was alright. I guess being solidly written is the grandest thing I could say about it. I think inherently I just don't find the premise terribly clever, and that worked against my enjoyment of it.

The best author on the site: RainbowBob. Understandable. The worst author on the site: RainbowBob . . . huh.

Best Movie of 2013:
Frozen. For one simple reason.

I really didn't expect it, but I agree.

I'm playing GTA V for the second time!

Wanna know why?

Cause my fucking PS3 got reformatted

Best Vidja Game of 2013:
Grand Theft Auto V.
Was there really any doubt?

Yes, plenty of doubt, given that 2013 also contained The Stanley Parable, Saints Row IV, and Papers, Please. :ajbemused:

When will you get around to writing the ship of your namesake?

Equestrian Gods?

Also, I never even realized the fish in the Discord pic were supposed to be the alicorn sisters until now. I just thought they were random fish, because Discord. Silly me. :twilightsheepish:

Happy New Years, ye ol' bastard. :pinkiehappy:

RainbowBob,

I once again congratulate you on your new marriage, and extend blessing upon your new union of souls. May your life together be fruitful, and happy, and fill whatever void existed before your union.

I further extend my wish that 2014 shall meet you with brighter futures ahead, along with joy and merriment throughout the coming year!

Truly,
Travis J.

All this stuff about best video game of 2013 and nobody thought to say The Last of US or Super Mario 3D world? I've played both those and GTA V and they are both better than it.

P.S. Happy love marriage and stuff.
