'Pet Peeves' Overhaul *Read if you're following this story!* · 8:22pm Dec 2nd, 2013
Old Santa Obs said that tagging stories with blogposts actually works now. I'm deciding to test that out now with those of you being phenomenally patient with my gimpy ass.
So if the tag worked, you're either a person following 'Pet Peeves' or a Regidar. So what has taken me so gosh darn long in updating this fic? Well, after submitting it to EqD, they gave me a reply back a month later essentially saying, "It's a novel idea, but it needs a lot of polish, mainly in the prologue chapter."
After that, I hit brick wall; couldn't figure out how to do a massive overhaul of the prologue. Then I lost interest. Well, my interest is back and with a vengeance. I've been busy writing out, picking apart and analyzing my entire story so that I have the whole thing planned out in this big ass 20 page long google doc on a synopsis of each and every chapter. Grueling work, but worth it. I'm still in the process of re-reading it with a friend of mine.
But I came to the conclusion that I should not only re-write the prologue but make an intro as well. So when I change the prologue, you guys won't have to keep checking back to see if the word count changed, as I'd be adding an intro chapter as well. Both will variate differently from the original draft. The prologue, like all audience-catching prologues, will be set in a scene way later in the story.
Then the intro, which will be fairly short, will take place at the Pony Pet Playdate. It won't be in the same format as before, but rather in a third-person format. Just to give you guys a synopsis of what it'll entail, it will still involve the ponies talking among themselves while the pets are playing together in ways that still manage to "say" what the pets desire without actually saying anything.
Thank you all for being so patient; I really want to get these out there before Christmas but... GAH my stupid life is in the way.
Wait, and intro AND a prologue?
1565389 Yep. They're two different things. A prologue is just the telling of something that happened or will happen before. An intro is what it is: the intro of the story
Good to hear this isn't dead, it's one of the better-written pet-centric fics I've seen here so far.
I don't understand. So if I wasn't following you, but I had 'Pet Peeves' favourited, I would still see this blog post?
EDIT: Props on the new avatar too, mate. Till the 24th hits, I'll use this one myself. My skills in paint are unparalleled.
EDIT EDIT: Actually, screw that. This is better.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: This Christmas hat thing is irrelevant as hell, sorry. Heh.
That's cool, but keep in mind that the EqD pre-readers could not possibly have their heads shoved further up their respective asses.
I had no problem with the prologue as it was. Don't really see what makes EQD pre-readers the gold standard of fan fic. If you, as the author, felt a need to redo what was already there then fine. As a reader I didn't see anything wrong with it.
I look forward to what you do give us. Keep it up!
Life is so stupid. I hate life.
1565517 Apparently
1565796 While that's true, this particular proof reader made many good points.
1565836 Heh, well, at first I didn't see anything wrong with it but then he pointed out the problems with it and I was like "huh."
1565853 Life can just go die.
Story tag works!
I'm so happy to hear that this story idea is not dead. It has a lot of potential and I'll be happy to read where you take these characters!
So you can tag stories to stories now, eh? I better try that once I get an actual story up and running.
Nice butt hat, by the way...
I was surprised when I got the notification; I was: "Wait! When did I clicked the watch on Apex's page?"
Good to hear that Pet Peeves is still very much alive, can't wait to see the changes
1568124 Butt hat? It's on top of the reaper's head!

...
I think I just went full retard...
Boy, have I fallen out of touch with the internet in the three days I were gone. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch Breaking Bad and a Playtrough of Mass Effect 3.
Well I will tell you right now that I will miss the prolog for the time being.
It was so good. Although I would take it for a first chapter not a prolog, I mean is not common to see prologs that are longer than the first chapter they preside.
Also Christmas is coming.
