I'm writing this journal after spending an entire day at a Singapore brony meetup. I've literally crossed Singapore twice today.
You're lucky I love you guys enough to do this. I should be in bed right now...
Ladies, and gentlemen, you've reached the end of the broadcast. The show has come to a close, the curtains are being closed, and a slight murmur has built in the seated crowd as they slowly become accustomed to the light of the showroom. But don't get out of your velvet-lined seats just yet. Save those popcorn kernels for one last message from the director, who just so happens to have snuck his way inside. Because it's time to see what's after the credits.
Air was just the beginning, ladies and gentlemen. I've wrapped up my accounts, paid my debts, cut off all ties to the past and turned to face what's next. I've got a lot on my plate, and it's not just stories I'm talking about. But for now, that's what I will talk about, because that's what I'm here: to create, to write, and hopefully, in the process, to entertain. I'd like to think I've got quite the lineup for you guys.
These next few fics should see me trying some things that are quite a bit different from what you may have come to expect from your stereotypical karyotype. I'm going to be branching into a different genre with a one-shot, and I'm planning on a completing and then gradually releasing another piece that's sure to have more than its fair share of twists and turns for your literary pleasure. That's what I hope, at least. That's what I plan. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans. We'll see how that works out.
I'm also planning on eventually compiling a bit of a self-humbling story that brings together all the bits and scraps of stories that didn't pan out, didn't go anywhere, or just, well, sucked. That will be coming alongside the fics I've mentioned previously. These means are to a solitary end: to accomplish the one element of writing that I've yet to really get my head around. Consistency and constancy. With the free time I've been given, and what I've learned about writing, I'm going to strive to go for the whole nine yards. Harder, better, faster, stronger, yadda yadda I actually prefer deadmau5. Don't lapidate me too hard, please.
But all these stories? All these one-shots and experiments and compilations? They're just appetizers leading up to the main course. With Air gone, I suddenly find myself without a project to consecrate by energy on. That's going to change. I tried it before, it failed. A series, that is. You knew it as Off-Key, and it's something I'm not too proud of. But that's in the past, and something new is coming. Something big, something epic, something that I've probably spent more time planning and organizing than I really should have. We're talking a series bigger than anything that I've ever attempted before, in both raw length and scope. The beast has a name, but I'll save that for when you two start to get acquainted, and that's still a ways off, and like I said, best-laid plans. I'm excited for it, though. Very excited.
OK, Easy there Chromosome. Two steps back, deep breath, try again.
This marks the end of my tripartite return blog-stravaganza. We now return you to your regular ponyfic activities.

Just take your time this time. Working slowly is better than fast and burning out afterwards. If you don't feel like writing then don't. You don't get anything but enjoyment and experience from this either way, so you got no reason to rush it.
