Aquaman's Feel-Bad Story Time Hour (Or: At This Point Whatever's Going On with Me and Flurry Heart Is Frankly None of Your Business)

Did you enjoy (in a figurative sense) me writing about Flurry Heart being in a toxic relationship in "And I Hope You Die"? Have you been thinking (in a literal sense), "You know, I bet the result of that toxic relationship's end is going to be that cotton-candy pony princess doing things that would be war crimes if she didn't win the war she crimed in?"

Monophobia Postmortem (Or: I Have Now Released My New Shit and My Fell-Off-Ness Is In a State of Constant Flux)

    "You used to be big."
"I am big. It's the [website] that got small."

(Come on, I've been living literally on Sunset Boulevard for a year and a half now. Gimme just this one bit of referential self-aggrandizement.)

I Ain't Fall Off, I Just Ain't Release My New Shit

That's true, by the way, not just a cheeky two-year-old Lil Nas X reference. I really have been working on lots of stuff over the past year or so: a few TV pilot scripts that I'm generally okay with as learning experiences, some networking-type stuff here in LA with other "pre-WGA" (which is our fun term for "aspiring" [which is our extra-fun

    'Sup

Hey, horsefic folks. How it's hanging?

I hope "in Bellevue" is at least some of your answers, because that's where I'll be in a few hours and will remain through the EFNW weekend. I'll be, as always, six-foot-four and affably daydrunk, so say hi to anyone who meets that description and sooner or later it's bound to be me.

    Regarding Less-Than-Positive Interpretations of Pride

Let's get a quick disclaimer out of the way before we really get going: I don't like foalcon. By "foalcon" here, I refer specifically to M-rated stories that depict characters who are very clearly meant to be minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct with other minors and/or adults. Not a fan of it! I find it gross on a personal level, I think it's morally reprehensible that a site of this

Equestria Girls Trailer (Or, "Oh God, This Is Actually Happening, And Somehow I Don't Abjectly Fucking Hate It") · 3:30am May 13th, 2013

So as I'm sure you've heard/seen, an official trailer now exists for Equestria Girls, and after a few minutes of debate over whether I really wanted to put myself through watching it, I ended up throwing a shoe at my mouse button and hoping to come through with minimal injuries. And now that I've watched the trailer and seen the precise extent of the unholy abomination we've brought upon ourselves, I can honestly say that it...

Uh...

Well.

It wasn't as bad as it could've been. In fact, the biggest thing I feel after seeing the trailer is a strange, almost self-contradictory sense of relief.

First of all, let me clarify: everything positive I'm about to say about EG falls under the construction of "at least", as in "at least it's got this going for it / is not this other much worse thing". With that being said, let me now go on to specify:

• Yes, turning Twilight and company into humans is and will always be a magnificently stupid idea, but at least they're modeled kind of like actual humans instead of those terrifying half-pony, half-people hybrids we saw in all of the promo art before now. As it stands, they still have technicolor skin and weird proportions, but that's just normal fare for animated cartoon humans (Doug and The Simpsons come most immediately to mind as examples, but I'm sure there are others)

• Yes, the plot is exactly the insipid, cliché, "We have to save the world from magical destruction, AND THE PROM'S TOMORROW!" pile of nonsense I knew it would be, but at least it looks like there are going to be a few gags along the lines of "Twilight acts like a horse in a human world, and everybody makes the same face Fluttershy does in the trailer". It's a long shot that the same line of thought will lead to a similar moment when Twilight discovers that humans are omnivores, but for the time being, I can hold out hope.

• Yes, giving Twilight a blatant shipping bait brodudefriend has the potential to create a shitstorm the likes of which would boggle the minds of those unaccustomed to the Internet or to this fandom's complete lack of respectable boundaries, but at least it looks like they're actually going full-throttle on the background references to the show, if the sheer number of secondary, background, and fanon characters visible in the trailer is anything to go by. (On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Scootaloo is doing the Chicken Dance during the two seconds she shows there, in which case SWEET UNHOLY DEMONS OF HADES SOMEONE WILL DIE FOR THIS. It should be noted that I'm not too good with reasonable boundaries myself.)

• And yes, this whole thing probably will end up being a cringeworthy pander to the teen girl / bronies who want to be ponies crowd, but at least it purportedly has Meghan McCarthy attached as a writer and has the potential to have a few bright spots amidst the chaos and bloodshed of the buttbruised masses. In other words, as I said at the beginning of this post: at least it's not as bad as it could've been.

And that's all I have to say about that.

(Real talk, though: if this thing ends up being the first place where Vinyl Scratch speaks in any context, shit's goin' down.)

I'm waiting for it to inevitably bring along someone from the cast of High School Musical.

At least it'll make good flamebait material for a while, and even cause a shitstorm or two if we're lucky.

We're using a show with a lame guy who goes around dressed as "quailman" for comparison?

God help us....

also, stoop kid

We are responding to the desire by our fans to experience the brand in more ways,” said John A. Frascotti, Hasbro’s chief marketing officer. “They imagined themselves as which pony they would be or which pony they identified with the most.”

We did this.

We, the fanfiction writers, brought this upon ourselves. Endless piles of HumanxPony and HiE and crossovers have spoken for our deepest desires, though we dared not voice them.

In our cries for recognition from gods made deaf by law, we have told them everything they needed to know to instigate the Ragnarok of the fandom.

Woe to he who takes me seriously here, but I know someone will

I think I had better impressions of Double Rainboom, which was awful.

Aquaman, I think you're one of the only people on this website that has any sanity left

I still think that the guy is Shining Armor, but who knows >.>

I already have a plan for this when it hits:

Author Interviewer

I anticipate, with McCarthy helming it, that it will be about as good as the season 3 opener. Or rather, that's the best it can possibly be. With high school prom drama, the results are doubtful going to be far worse. My expectations going into this will be zero to negative.

My thoughts more or less exactly. It could be much worse. It could also be much better, such as by not existing, so that Season 3 could've been full-length, but it could be much, much worse.

One comment on the Prom: She's looking for a crown, right? And the Prom Queen gets a... CROWN?!? :pinkiegasp::derpyderp2::rainbowhuh::raritystarry::unsuresweetie::trollestia::yay::moustache: Okay, it's still a dumb cliche, but still!

Before you coninue on to reply, make yet another comment of EG, this is how it will go:

They made the show Equestria Girls, in hopes to draw people who are stereotypical against the damned 'ponies are for girlies' bullshit, which does work, and to get those 'true' (in this, true means faggot) fans who think that completely humanized versions are better than the real damned deal!

I say nothing on the anthropomorphic version you mentioned were atrocious to you. I don't want to start on all that shit.

Lastly, it's a cry for help. Those who produce MLP are running out of options/have a faggot new director/are just a bunch of stupid faggots, and therefore, try something new.

This is MLP's downfall. I used to be a brony, but it's now become a rare pass time to write ponies down like I used to do every day. This saddens me and ultimately, I may actually live up to what I say here: I want to punch the faggot who pitched this idea in the throat until he passes out. I know it's a guy too. Women don't think this way. No. Pitch the idea that something new needs to come along, and we'd have something SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER than the original MLP. Look at what Lauren Faust created.

Power puff girls, the show of my childhood, and MLP: FIM, a very well known phase of the MLP franchise that got so much more. But, she is workign for the man, and the man puts her down because the man is still gender discriminative.

Aqua, put me down before I go on a rampage and actually do go man hunting.

"Two things are infinite; The universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the first."
~Albert Einstein

That sum it up?

"We have to save the world from magical destruction, AND THE PROM'S TOMORROW!"
entertaiment bussiness is full of cliches, and mlp is not an exeption, but the staff has always know how to spice things up, so yeah, i'd say this is pretty comon for pony.

"this fandom's complete lack of respectable boundaries"
HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA! thanks for reminding me of that! and oh god those coments :rainbowlaugh:

as for vinyl... in this type of movies, the dj ALWAYS anounces the slow-mo dance time...

1077987
people moves on, its completly normal, you should go re-watch some episodes and re-evaluate your stance on the pony world, "the true will free you!" or some shit like that.:rainbowderp:

1074354
i have no words.
you monsters!:raritydespair:

but seriously, wouldnt it be fuck up as all if this idea was pitched or based on something the fandom did?
"the gates to hell are open whit the best intentions" or something like that.... man i realy need to go re-read FOE....

holy shit.
FOE+EQG
someone do it.

1083583

holy shit.

FOE+EQG

someone do it.

1083621
hey i have low standars for entertaiment
well... ok, i dont have standars.

1083583

Excuse me, the fuck r u doin, new fag?

I'm pretty sure that the most I associate myself with this whole damned thing has trickled to nothing. I only came back to fimfiction just now to recall something funny I read in the past, inside a conversation between drunken ponies.

1093994
im doing what i always "fucking" do sir. Old Fag :raritywink:

and if you are just passing around the neighboorhood, why coment on EQG? you should just disasociate yourself whit mlp and be done whit it, nothing good can come out of being so masochist :L

1095492

Woooooow, you have defined the phrase "new fag" for us all. Maybe you should look up what these things mean, cause I'm pretty sure you're just throwing hollow insults.

To answer your question, I have a lot of stories I set to the side, and most of them I've not even begun to read. That is currently my only reason to return to this site and fandom.

If You reply, I'm not going to reply again, this is aquaman's post, not mine. I'm not arguing on someone else's turf.
