Shining Armor · 3:07am Mar 13th, 2012
With the recent revelation of Twilight having a brother... I'm going to admit, that has kinda sapped me of any plans I had for future C&A sequels.
I'm still going to finish Whisper of Wind, but it'll take me a bit. Suffice to say, it will not go anywhere near as fast as Cross and Arrow itself did. Just to warn you folks.
In the meantime, I have a lot of... short things. Small ideas that I want to develop, but don't really have the drive for. If I used these blogs to post them up, would that be a problem?
I would be fine with that
Hmm. You could do a drabble collection story, though if you'd rather use the blog, I certainly don't mind.
Sorry to hear about the muse-death there, though it does make sense. Shimmering Brocade doesn't really fit in, does she?
Well, don't give up. Maybe it was just a typo and Shining Armor really isn't Twilight's brother?
What I mean to say is, we love C&A. I wouldn't want it to die before its time just because of a single possible plot point on an episode that hasn't even aired yet.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR GODLY ONE SHOTS IN YOUR BLOG!
I would personally love it.
I would hate it if C&A wasn't continued. Such a shame for such a good plot to go to waste.
Go for it~!
Don't let Shining Armor ruin all your plans though :(
so tell me, who all here instantly thought of Shinity when they heard the news?
also, not all those plans have to be scrapped, just... edited >.>
Isn't great when characters crawl out of the woodwork?
you can continue your story pretending it to be an alternate universe where shining armor isn't related to Twilight.
that would be an easy way to fix the continuity problems, or just stating that since you made your fic storyline way before the shining armor anouncement, you have no plans on changing it, or tell the haters to buck off, hehe im just storming ideas lol.
i really hope that you don't end C&A so early, hope to read more from you.

Okay, was about to give an answer similar to this, but I dont gotta write it now ^^
I agree with this one's idea
It's been a while since I read "On a Cross and Arrow", how does Shining interfere plotwise?
welp that's what happens when the community pumps out works of art and fiction faster than the creators of the show can make episodes XD
In my mind, it's up to the author what version of canon they want everything to fit in. If they want to just use what we had after season 1, that's fine. If they want to roll with the punches (like lame alicorns who only serve as toy fodder) then good for them.
30904 Very well said good sir. U r correct sir!

i would also like to know how it is that Shining Armor interferes. or is it simply the fact that he EXISTS at all?
30964 i think it's because Twilight's choice of relationship with her double was influenced by the fact she's an only child. Noww of course that doesn't change much in the grand scheme of things, but the author could've planned things with the idea that she doesn't have a brother, and that don't work if she does.
Heh, love your fics either way!
It's fine. We can wait. Take all the time you need!
Today I weep
Who in the what now? Twilight has a brother? I don't see how that changes anything. Geez you people sure love to overreact to something like this. So she has a brother who hasn't been seen through the entire show, since when did something being Cannon interfere with what goes on in fanfics? Each of these stories is a view of new worlds, so don't let something like the introduction of a brother toss you off your story. The story is yours and yours alone to tell, so don't let anyone else tell you how to tell your amazing stories.
I say ignore Shining Armor entirely.
your work is always magnificent and charming, even if it's not as good as On a Cross and Arrow, I will be enjoyable while it lasts
30928 Twilight says something about Spike being the brother she never had or something like that i dont remember 2 well.... well then that means i gotta read it again
You could always make it seem like the two of them really don't have a relationship. That they're related by blood, but have no ties to bind them. Practically estranged, haven't seen each other in years, haven't even spoken. I dunno, but I hope this doesn't hurt things too much.
Don't read don't read don't read don't read don't read don't read
DON'T FREAKING READ!!!!!!
NOOO.... I'M READING THE SOILERS!!!!!!
Oh wait.
It's only the first line is spoilers.

i wouldn't think that would be much of an issue. couldn't she just view her double as just another brother, only her age and well.. her! i mean, this does not need to be super duper extra crazy complicated.
31116 OOOH, I see, I guess that makes sense
doesn't hurt to read an awesome story again
Aw... I seriously need to catch up on my episodes...
well, I say you could get away with just ignoring her brother by carefully stating that you started writing this series before his episode came out.
This is a really fan based community, so as long as you hold that you're excluding Twilights brother for literary reasons, not Fan Based ones. State that you're simply using and earlier version of the show, and that while you don't have anything against Twilight's Brother, he simply doesn't fit into your established or planned storyline. Still, I'm glad you're continuing A whisper of wind! The hijinks you've put into it so far is wonderful!
unless i missed/forgot something or there is something you had planed that doesn't work if Twilight isn't an only child, i don't really see how this affects the story.
and if there is something thrown out of place, you are already in the middle of a multiverse and this story is big enough to have taken on a life of it's own, i doubt anybody is going to even blink if you say Shining Armor isn't a part of your story.
it's your story, you can do whatever you want with it, if people don't like it they can go read something else.
