Seashell is hitting print! · 4:21pm April 8th
That's right. We're there.
Writing is complete, interior layout is complete, cover is complete.
Time to print a proof copy!
I'm super-nervouscited right now.
I just ordered the first proof from Lulu Press. In a few days I get the physical copy in my hooves, and I get to see what I screwed up my work on actual pieces of paper in linen-bound hardcover with a dust jacket and everything.
I decided I'm going to print 20 copies of this first hardcover edition. If I only did 10 like I thought I would, I think just about all of them would be spoken for already by people expressing interest, so I want a few extras (but not a lot) to help meet demand and keep anyone from missing out.
And that's all the Seashell news that's fit to print (see what I did there?).
(Then once this edition is good I get to do the layout and cover design work all over again for the paperback because the size format is different so everything changes lol)
How exciting!
Good job!
Good idea to go with proof copies first. I distinctly recall certain mistakes made by certain people who shall remain forever nameless. One, for example, had a chapter of a story in the book twice. An entirely different one had a whole chapter missing.
So... yeah. Proof copies are a good idea.
Very exciting news indeed :).
Excellent, excited to add it to the shelf :3
