Thank you (again) · 8:46pm Mar 6th, 2024
Gonna be honest, $2185 is far more than I expected to get from that GoFundMe.
And frankly, typing out the words "thank you" feels just way too... Simple? Condescending... ish? Just plain not enough?
But I have zero idea how else to convey the help you've given and a big, large, huge, utterly massive part of me demands I do something equal in return. I just don't know what with my incredibly mediocre skillset.
...zero points for telling me where my mind has been last few days. Or last few months as case may be.
But in any case, I have no idea what to do in return so I shall simply type it out. For now.
If you donate a bit of cash, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you spread the word as best you could, I thank you as well.
If you did nothing but read this and move along, I thank you as well.
I say it again, I cannot fully express what this means to me or just how much help this will be but you have made it so I'm not completely fucked over. And that is more than I would have ever asked.

What I did was the least I could do for a decade-long friend. How much time do you still have left for your gofundme?

You know... I'm not entirely sure.
In fact I don't think it ever told me to set time limit. Unless it asking "how soon do you need the money" was the time limit question. Which in that case was 2 weeks.
I'd guess it's a little over a week right now? Maybe?

I wasn't able to give this time, but I'll buy you a drink if I'm ever in your neck of the woods. Good luck. Have a poem I found.
It should read 2285$ in a moment, hope this helps
Question for the future... is it better to donate via GoFundMe or KoFi? Or does it make no difference?

Donator's choice, really. But if/when I hit the goal on the FundMe, it might close it out.
I dunno how it works, frankly.

You’re very welcome, Skeeter but knowing you’re doing better is really all that’s needed…After all, it’s what we do for friends
Hurray!
Glad you're doing so much better than you were, at least, and good luck!
live well
Best thing to do is pay it forward. Any tiny bit of kindness you do for someone in the future... well, you now know how they'll feel and what it will mean to them. I hope things in general will soon improve for you!

OK, thanks for the info.
I asked because, at least in the past, one of those (KoFi, I think, but I'm not 100% sure) was eating up a percent of the donated money as 'operation cost' (even though they claimed they don't do that). So, for every ten bucks donated, only 8 or 9 would make it to the final account.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, perhaps things changed over time, and it's no longer an issue, or... my memory is playing tricks on me (again...
).
Well, in any case - take care, and good luck buying something decent
Wish I could've given something, but I didn't have anything to give sadly. Happy you're doing better though, wishing you the best homie!
I donated, not because I expect something in return, but because I hope for you to keep being you. If you feel like you owe something, pay it forward.
