Discord joins the Mane 6 for a slumber party.
He gets bored very quickly.
Luckily, Rainbow Dash has an idea.

Rainbow Dash unleashes a masterful prank upon Princess Twilight Sparkle.
She takes it very well.
Too well, in fact.

With the union of the Three Pony tribes, it seems as though Harmony is finally obtainable. However, among the Pegasus and Earth Pony tribes there is unease - how can they look upon their Unicorn kin as equals when subject to their power o'er light and darkness? Plants and wind will still work untended, but the Unicorns have their monopoly, and this cannot bode well.

A decision is made, a summit held, and magicks wrought.

When a nation is starving, it must expand to feed the populace.
Sometimes, this means war.
Sometimes, war is lost.
But a good leader will not accept defeat until Death himself commands them, and will fight for the survival of their people even amid a crushing defeat and abject humiliation. A good leader will not quit.
A good leader is willing to wait.

Chrysalis is one such leader.

Daring Do is a Pegasus who investigates and uncovers awesome artifacts lost to history--What could be more awesome than finding a pony who could do the legendary Sonic Rainboom? Rainbow Dash can't think of anything.

But nopony has written that story; the awesomeness to end all awesomeness.
So she does what any loyal fan would do:
She takes the matters into her own hooves.

In a faraway land, much to the North of Equestria, the once was a King. A King who spent long nights gazing up at the stars, in awe of their beauty. A King who felt the ache of a Princesses wounded heart. A King who, with a thousand years under the ice, fell prey to madness, jealousy, and heartache.

With Twilight Sparkle's ascension to Princesshood, little fillies across the world dream away with the knowledge that any one of them could become a Princess themselves, somehow, some day. Unicorns dream of sprouting wings and tasting the clouds, Pegasi imagine what it might be like to conjure from thin air, and the Earth Ponies...

Well, they've always been a practical people. "Keep your hooves on the ground and your head with your hooves," as they say.

But one little Earth Pony wonders how different her kind is from the fiery Pegasi and crafty Unicorns - What does an Earth Pony have to offer that they don't?

So, she does some light research on the inherent magics of ponykind, and how they tie together into the apex form known as an Alicorn.

She is less than pleased with her results.
