PHILOMENA!!! (For those who don't know, she's Celestia's pet phoenix from the episode where Fluttershy takes her to take care of her, thinking that Celly neglected her. It's later revealed that she's just molting and is preparing to be reborn.)
Gotta say, I love that his first interaction in this world is with a smart pheonix rather than the typical "He meets another pony" or what have you.
11624802 I'm purposely being vague as to make the revelation on Radahn and Leonard be more organic, and so readers could also get a glimpse into their perspective via said revelation when it happens, which is coming in another chap or two.
That said, I don't mind giving a spoiler :
During the time of the three warring pony tribes. Equestria doesn't even exist yet, neither does Luna or Celestia.
Ok, so I'm not well versed in the lore behind Radahn, so I have to ask. Was he actually like this before the rot afflicted him, or is this a creative freedom you're taking with it. Either way, I am absolutely LOVING his character.
11644666 We sadly can’t say for certain how he was before the rot, but what we do have to go off of is the influence he left behind.
Radahn was never once referred to negatively. Quite the opposite, in fact. Every time an npc talked about the big guy it’s always positive and in a good light.
The Redmanes willingly chose to stay and fight off Malenia’s Scarlet Rot because they felt it would honor their lord. They even hold a festival to give him an honorable death and to free him from his suffering.
They had absolutely no obligation to stay and could’ve taken their leave and return to their homes. But in the item description of their armor—I believe it’s the chest piece—they made an oath to never go back to their homes until their duty was fulfilled.
That duty, of course, is to save their beloved general.
All that being said, I used some creativity based off of the positive impressions we get of the big guy and came up with a boisterous and honorable warrior for his character.

I bet ponies are going to be confused when he just casually decides gravity is of little consequence.
I think I know who is the current owner of Philomena.

Yeah, wanted to throw a curveball here.
I could've easily had it been a pony, saddle arabian, or even an abyssinian. But I wanted to go with Philomena as she introduces someone else later.

Oh, absolutely. Especially pegasi.
