Great job! Keep going!
Time for them to reap what they sow next chapter.
Amazing hypocrisy from the three. Treat Sunset like dirt or worse on mere suspicion, but wholeheartedly forgive the actual guilty parties when only one of them is sorry for anything more than being caught. Twilight's right - in the case of Rarity and Rainbow there's simply nothing worth salvaging from those friendships. It's possible something could be recovered with Applejack, but would Sunset actually want to bother? I wouldn't in her place.

Sighs i agree! this was terrible, and i really hope Sunset breaks them!
I hope the CMC are treated as garbage and the Three elder sisters suffered as much as well!
Because this chapter SUCKED! Those stupid three!
Hope they lose badly in the court
9630973
And that would help... how?
Perpetuating a cycle of anger and hate tends to be detrimental.
I hope Sunset will show them no mercy.
9631020
So it's better they get away with what they did? It's better the little brats who only confessed to make themselves look good get away with it all.
...Wow...
they only confessed to make themselves look good, gave a stupid sob story, and look what happened.
Scoota doesn't care at all she hurt Sunset,s he a spiteful brat, and rainbow is just as bad, Rarity as well!
Sweetie Belle only confessed thinking it keep her sister from being sued and Rarity fell for her sob story as well.
this is not about hate, this is about making them understand there consequences!
I hope that means the next 2 chapters is them getting sued to high hell and the school crashing down on itself.
9631041
I think you know that is not what I'm saying. They should be punished, yes, but the punishment needs positive reinforcement. Without it, it achieves nothing.
But given many people who read Anon-a-Miss stories want to see the CMC's heads served on a platter, that puts me in a minority. Those who do not learn the consequences of history are condemned to repeat them. Those who do watch helplessly as others repeat them.
9631069
Maybe so, but let's face in this one only one of them feels bad and only a little the other two. Feh!
The other two only fessed up again to try and save their asses and maybe their siblings or sibling figure.
The Three forgave them so easily, and thus why they should face the harsh aftermath as well, word gets out their reps will be tarnished. can see someone accuse them of being part of it even.
In the other fics all three feel terrible and know how badly they screwed up, and do try to make up for it.
9631086
Plus, they're sorry they hurt their sisters, not Sunset.
9631107
Well they going to be sorry they hurt a lot of other people when it gets out. Along wit the punishments they be getting, and if the sisters defend them....angry mob.
9631086
As I believe fellow user draph91 put it, "Forgiveness has its limits, but we must try". To which end, I suggest we agree to disagree on this one.
9631069
you seem to be blatantly ignoring the fact that the CMC broke several laws in what they did and generally get away with it. they made a blatant attempt to ruin someones life and ruined several dozen other peoples reputations in the process. you do realize what applejack and rarity did are actually considered crimes right? and do to how this works the CMC are equally guilty of said crimes by the president set for such cases. punishment should have positive reinforcement yes but this isn't punishment and that's your issue.
this is consequence.
9630993
legally speaking there isn't a way they can win, even if they show up the most apt lawyer in the country might get the fines dropped but thats about it.
9631267
And which laws, may I ask?
Are you also going to address the fact people sent in secrets of their own accord?
9631293
identity theft (legally they did everything with the intention of everyone thinking it was sunset), defamation of character. endangerment of someone through fraudulent actions, misuse of government property (school computers are government property look it up). then there are the charges that there sisters heap onto it, well most aren't severe enough to go to criminal court, except applejack. getting someone fired without a good reason means they can press you for loss of income. applejack vandalized sunsets bike so thats also on the CMC's head as it was a direct result of there actions.
Yay it continues
9631328
Yup, poor principal Celestia
Identity theft: Q506 of the UK Penal Code defines identity theft as 'when a person uses your details to obtain goods and services without your knowledge or permission.' Not sure that applies here.
Defamation of character: I'm not too convinced this one applies either, given that the account never claims to be Sunset Shimmer. Looking at the original comic again (I know, I'm old), the account never actually states it is Sunset. True, it implies, but never says it. People simply assumed it was Sunset.
Endangerment of someone through fraudulent actions: Definitely.
Misuse of Government property: I'm not able to find any evidence to support this claim. If you could send some information that states that school PCs belong to the government, I will retract this statement, but I'd think it more likely they belong to the school board.
Firing without good reason: most employment is covered under employment at will, which means technically a boss doesn't need a reason to sack somebody.
Vandalism charge: I entirely agree with this one.
9631509
first off there is such thing as 'wrongful termination' and 'loss of income' so yes those still apply to this situation.
identity theft also counts towards the using of another persons identity to commit acts that well be blamed towards said person, also they made the profile picture with sunsets silhouette that was on purpose not an incidental act, the silhouette being sunsets shape means they intended for sunset to be blamed, so defamation of character stands because any competent prosecutor could make the charge stick without much argument.
i don't have the exact source but if you look it up a school that is not private is a government institution ran and funded by the local government, equipment inside is bought and paid for with funding gained form the government. it qualifies as government property.
not trying to start an argument here trying to make a point, the CMC shouldn't be receiving a punishment here, they should be dealing with the consequences of there actions.
9631509
Not to mention US laws likely apply.
The truth is revealed, but sadly this will only make things worst....
9631631
Firstly, thank you for the clarifications. It seems my knowledge of English law was driving my answers somewhat.
9631685
D'oh!
Didn’t expect those three to have next to no redeeming qualities. Wonder if they will try to protest things when it comes to the courts.
Way I see it the charges runs thusly :
Fraud:the act of using someone else's likeness to decide people
Defamation of character: using said fraudulent activity to sway public opinion and reputation of someone
Vandilisim: the destruction of someone's property (this namely apply's to damages to the bike), between the sparkplugs and the apple juice, I see a clear open shut case on that charge.
Disorderly conduct and filling a false report:
Calling am emergency operator service on its own can bring a $1,000 fine and up to a years jail time, granted it all depends on the judge and the severoty of the action taken. In this case due to being minors I see them getting senticed to community service or a fine via reductions in charges during the course of this trial.
End summery: my speculation as a person who has studied law extracurricularly, the CMC are looking at a shit ton of community service and probably some damages in the ballpark of $1,000-$5,000 total not each.
These are rough estaments as every judge has his or her own preferences in how to deal with these situations, not to mention the fact that these are first time offenders (granted the crimes are seen consecutively, so that works against them.).
But yeah take all this with a grain of salt who knows what the author will do. But I am most exited to see.
It's almost time for this to happen. I've been looking forward to it since chapter 5.
Man I can't wait.
9642203 Admiral, darlin', I like and respect you very much, but where that's concerned (the Trump thing, that is), this is one of those things we're going to have to just agree to disagree on.
Mainly 'cause I absolutely hate politics and all the chaos that crap brings up.
The HuMane 5 thing I absolutely agree with you on.
9642180
she can sue rarity however, it's not exclusively towards the business who fired you, if you can prove someone maliciously got you fired form a job, you can sue the person for it and now more then ever i'd say sunset has proof.
9642293
No it's fact. Look it up. Like Sunset here I am tired of people bashing the president for something he didn't do.
9643052 I'll just take your word on it, hun.
I honestly really don't like Trump, so I'm not going waste my time messing with it.
I've got things I like doing better.
Like drawing or writing.
Politics.
Bleah.
9643075
I can accept you don't like him. But you brought him in first. Keep politics to pony ones.
9643085 K.
And gladly.
I've seen enough crap that's happened in the human variety in my 62 years to make me despise them with a passion.
It's one of the reasons that I hate election years with every particle of my being.
So please, let's go back to talking about fun stuff (ponies) and leave all the politics crap where it belongs.
As in, NOT here.
Deal?
Good.
9642180 Very well put.
She could also probably sue for wrongful eviction for getting kicked out of her apartment for the same reason.
Which is whoever her landlord was having rock-solid proof that enabled him to do that.
Which I be he (or she) didn't.)
And if I'm rambling, don't mind me.
Kinda hot and tired after some of the stuff we did today.
9643195
Deal
9643229 Thanks, hun.
I'd much rather talk about ponies than politics any day of the week!
9643231
Same
9643243 Yeah, I think we ALL would.
Ponies are nice, and sweet, and cute, and politics.... decidedly aren't.
9643262
Not all ponies
9643342 Well, this is true.
But for the most part, the majority of them are.
9643262
I tend to stay out of politics, that doesn't mean I don't comment on the stupid decisions that they make.
9649068 That makes two of us, actually.
9649089
To quote Truth in Halo 2 "Politics how tiresome."
9649576 Very true.
9649598
And to end this I quote George S Patton "Politicians are the lowest form of life on Earth, Liberal Democrats are the lowest form of politician."
9649601 Very wise, was our dear General Patton.
9649740
Admit you found that funny.
9650328 Yeah, I did (and still do), actually.
