Letter of Discharge

To: Shining Armor
From: Lt. Heartmare

Subject: Official Notification of Discharge

The purpose of this letter is to notify that, effective immediately, you are relieved from your duties as Captain of the Royal Guard. This comes after several of attempts to help you rescind your position. The Guard would have been willing to give you time to be with your family, but there are duties you should have delegated first yet you didn't.

There have been different guards who have taken care of your duties over the course of these days on top of their regular schedules. We are not only your fellow guards, but also your friends. And yet you have chosen to turn your back on us. Our heart goes out you and your family, but you have obligations with Equestria which cannot be set aside at the drop of a hat, specially during these times.

Once again, our thoughts are with you and yours, but this does not preclude us from taking action when it's necessary.
