Powerful. A perfect choice. I ended up looking for the song myself when i noticed it was lyrics, and knew itw ould be sabaton, modified. I played the song as i read on. Just a note, you might want ot fix the color-coding tags. they broke.
Nice chapter. Having both ends of the feels spectrum isn't easy (Adorably funny to remembering the fallen,) and you made it flow perfectly. Look forward to seeing what this short story has in-store.
I don't know why, but I had to link this image.

I know that's a typo, but it feels like a pun.

Is it wrong i kinda wanna see a struggle where blueblood went the same way Sir Penwood did from hellsing ova?
7344421 just saw your comment.
I can think of two ways you know it was Sabaton. Either A) because of how it is written and what its about as well as being epic.
Or
B) becuass I use a lot of Sabaton songs in this series.
This is the first time you’ve used this word correctly. …and it only took 344,000+ words to do so.
... It seems Chryssie is the same thing in chess to Twilight that Mendez was to Twilight in cqc.
Hah, the entire sequence with Twilight and Chryssie was hilarious.
That memorial scene was heavy. Though, they kinda forgot Chryssie being in the theme room back then.
for the song
as a proud Canadian i felt this song would be appropriate
"She was board"
Uhm...It should be "She was bored"

I had to include the first thing I thought of when thinking of the war memorial song.
Isn't it ironic that I read this chapter on Memorial Day? Loving this setting.

heh it is ironic yes, and i am glad you are enjoying it.
I think this is the first intentional use of the word "defiantly" in the three books. ;]
And shut up, I'm on a re-read, so it's not like I'm just poking fun. ;P
Well, I am, but not just because I want to take a shit on it, because I don't. The story is good. The writing... could use some work, shall we say. ;]

Oh wait. Looks like this isn't even the first time this has been mentioned here. :D Ah, well. Thought I was being clever...
