Good chapter.
Baby steps, Razor's mama. Baby steps.
7466321 don't want to alarm you, but this doc was in my FEATURE box! So excited to see that even for a few minutes! Great work man and I look forward to more:)
What the fuck!? Every time I upload a new chapter I get two or more new downvotes! Why? What am I doing wrong!? This shit is SERIOUSLY pissing me off! *yelling at downvoters* Hey ass-hats! Why don't you give a fucking reason for the downvotes!?
God DAMNIT! I HATE when people do that shit!!!
Very cute chapter. Very much looking forward to the next one. It'll be interesting to see what sort of pony customs are brought up during the planning and how they integrate them with human customs. I can only hope that Artex and Razor Wit get to enjoy both their wedding and at least part of their honeymoon before the major shit inevitably hits the fan. Though I very much enjoy your stories, when it comes to inflicting disaster and tragedy upon your characters, I'd say you're about as ruthless as George R. R. Martin.
Oriana a added
Extra 'a'
7466780 Trust me, when the shit hits the fan, you will be either crying or raging.
7467017 I was afraid of that.
Still looking forward to reading anyway.
7467155 I can only hope you really mean that.
7467189 oh I do. When it comes to my taste in reading material I can be a glutton for punishment. I've already gone over what I consider to be the worst possible case scenarios, so hopefully I won't be too emotionally flayed by things to come.
7467206 Send me a PM detailing what you think would be the worst case scenarios. I want to get an idea of how you think.
Still not a fan of Celestia, but I'll give credit where it's due. That probably wouldn't have been possible if she weren't throwing the treasury's money, and the weight of her title behind so many Human projects.
Aye, and we're proud of it. Less proud when the family genealogy project traced us back to tax collectors for the English.
I have a hard time taking these ponies seriously when they display adorable house-pet mannerisms.
Oh God. The red wedding. I've got the feeling this is the calm before the storm.
One small nitpick:
The mention of the veil here is confusing since it's brought up and addressed again afterward. I would suggest either be clearer about the request (i.e. "would you walk me down the aisle?") or not mention the veil until the bit where it's discussed.
Aww, thought shed make the counter-point of the bouquet toss to help put it in better context
A.D.O.S. I got to use that in one of my fic next time. That line alone gave me the giggles
7476803 Feel free to use it or any of the characters herein. I do ask that I be given credit for it and the characters' personalities stay the same.
7476828
No problem dude. But I just wanted to use the phrase XD
7480682 Poooooooooo!
Looks at the username... Scorch? I knew a guy who called himself Scorch Wolf. You aren't the same guy are you?
7481040 Think on it from a purely objective point of view. It's a sound decision to ensure they're not lying.
7481271
It also would be sound decision to capture them and then rip everything needed from their minds. It does not mean it should be done. A lot of "sound" decisions are bad ones, and in this case it is HORRIBLE one.
Imagine yourself being envoy/scout to new people and they trick you into revealing their homes location with such clandestine means? It is horrible way to start any relationships. What they stand to lose? All information they have acquired is public maybe they will vanish back to obscurity? What then? Even if their location would be known? Would dragging them to open be good idea? Only reason they would need to know location of the hive at this point is for ATTACK or forcing them to open up.
Basically tracking like this has potential to backfire in horrible ways for very little real gain. If i was ruler of that hive my paranoia would jump to Defcon 5 upon discovering of this tracking and the whole hive would vanish within a day, only one left would be the tracked ones as they weep for their lost home. (Then again i am the paranoid sort.)
Edit: To specify left behind since can it truly be made sure there is no other trackers on them with the new blood magic, alicorns and humans about?
7482460 Chris is not scum. He is fallible. He made a mistake and if you remember, be paid for it.
7482806
He did, but did he learn anything? The discussion the two had had some parts which i underlined, he seems avidly want to make a point both of them were in the wrong. He is externalizing the crime he committed and thinks it is proper to make lewd remarks to a person he beat to bloody pulp and who then had her personality shattered. Then he proceeds to tell him to "get a chill pill" and think things over.
He thinks it is proper to be 'casual dick' while understanding that it is something he does. (He could knowingly change his stance but chooses not since it is not 'something he is'.) The whole discussion with Morning Mist was "Me me me, both of your fault!" Crimes of criminal do not matter, he was an officer of the law and this is best kind of apology he can muster? My personal opinion is that he has learned nothing stands.
Could be i am judging him too harshly, but he took the position of 'moral arbiter' and beat a helpless person to satisfy his own sense of justice, and fails to provide proper apology.
7483318 You are completely misunderstanding him, but whatever. Not everybody can understand each person at the person's own level. Needless to say, Chis won't be making that (or a similar) mistake again.
7482460
That kind of thinking is VERY harmful, and warped.
People make mistakes. It's unavoidable.
The only thing that matters is that you learn from them, and do your best to not repeat them.
When someone makes a mistake, the only punishments that should be dealt are to ensure that the person who made the mistake realizes it was wrong, and that they have to do better in the future.
Chris and Celestia both.
Chris for his justified ~I say justified because the only people that wouldn't snap under the same situations would be 100% certifiable psychopaths who don't give a damn about the people closest to them being hurt and killed~ violent reaction.
And Celestia for her mistake of not utilizing a necessary (but invasive) procedure when large numbers of innocent lives were clearly at stake.
Chris' "crime" was actually the lesser of the two.
- No one died (hell, no one even suffered permanent disfigurement or disablement!) due to his actions (unlike Celestia's).
- The only person harmed was the perpetrator who was a cultist mass murderer that preyed on the innocent and even young children, both killing many of her victims, and indoctrinating others.
- And any sane being in his position (outside of some ridiculous "larger than life" fictitious action movie/game/story) would have suffered from a break in their sanity, driving them to a viscous and violent outburst. It's a miracle he only directed that anger in his insane state against the wrongdoer who triggered the episode.
Chris is actually more of a victim than Midnight Haze was.
(The mind simply isn't that resilient as to suffer such a deep and emotional attack as kidnapping and murdering the people that mean the most to you, as Midnight did. His temporary loss of sanity was outright inevitable.)
I can't exactly say that's how I recall traditional marriages in the US...
