I am still your Lamane, and you first punishment falls to me."
Your is the word you're looking for.
Cloud Cutter's punishment is very Japanese. Very apropos.
Was that a Spartan warrior? If so very cool.
Lot of win in this chapter. Kudos.
castration by your own father...
too much nepotism in my opinion.
So the Ancient Greeks somehow came here.....well this explains a lot.
If your burned out take a break from writing,I'm pretty sure most people will understand. I'm perfectly happy waiting for another chapter if it means it will be good.
Hmmmm.... The remains of a Bronze Age human, quite possibly of Greek origin, was found in a tomb in a mountain located in the Minotaur's territory.
Twilight Zone, meet the Outer Limits.
Certainly wasn't expecting Disord to be the unexpected alley in all this. Always good to know the obnoxious little trickster is around to me helpful every now and then.
And as for Cutter's other punishment? Ouch. Who needs a switch when you have a hoof, am I right? But seriously though, that was brutal. Mason is definetly not the "I'm not going to punish you because you're already punishing yourself" kind of fathers.
Cutter being sent to New Humansvill was another possibelity that I had considered, but figured that Artex might not want to be living so near his attacker and would-be killer. But this scenario certainly opens up more possibilities for future character development for both Artex and Cutter should you choose to put them in more situations tograther.
The Q&A session with Artex and the ponies was a very nice touch as it shows that Trottingham is not just a single hive mind that marches to the same rythym.
As for feeling burnt out don't worry about it. For the moment it seems as though you've wrapped up the major plotlines for the 'Trottingham Arc' of the story. Now seems a good a time as any to take a few weeks off and let the coils cool down.
All that aside, I look forward to both the next chapter and the next story arc.
Good day
Good writing.
7014342 honestly I had hoped cutter would be sent to new humansville.
The pony legal system seems heard toward rehabilitation. And I can't think of a better method than the one chosen.
Im suprised, given what happened at the museum on discovery, that Discord didnt stick around after the legal chaos, for teh chaos of the ages, if not aegis.
good chapter, Spartans were neat, explains why they thought humans were so barbaric.
7014146 WHAT!? NO! He didn't castrate him! What the hell are you smoking!? It was a spanking!
7014156 Not really. She comes around... after meeting Rifin.
7014034
7014440
Sorry guys, not Spartan. Try a different city in Greece. Besides, the Spartans used the spatha more than the xiphos.
7014034 huh no we know about the skin as hard as diamond thing come up if im right they were decscribing some type of leather armor meaning its some type of animal hyde of some kind its possible that it woud be lightweight but extremly durable and flexible
also could it be possible that humans appeared on equestria 2000 years ago so its possible that the storm that brought artex brought the spartan and other human possibly as well that means that the storm happens NATURALLY after 2000 years after each event!! that also means that equestria and earth are somehow linked together meaning that equestria is another version of earth in another universe not another planet
Fossilized, or petrified, skin would be pretty hard. So if it's that old of a body, and they don't know how that works, it's a natural assumption to make that humans would have very hard skin.
They aren't Spartans.
7007732 Enter Discord? Or from Visceral Slaughter... but I'm not sure how much help she could provide. Luna is almost too easy to guess at. Same goes for any other humans... The guards-in-punishment? I don't see what they could offer as way of help at this juncture...
Just got done reading... Hah! First guess was right!
7014508 well, how do see a spanking with a 5/8 of the lip a cup on the end of an arm/foreleg and they are covered with a metal edge? one miss move and kiss your balls goodbye! whipping is more acurate.
7014688 Perhaps you missed the part where Kavim don't wear horseshoes. They don't even have proper hooves. They have thousands of 4 inch long fine hairs on the bottoms of their legs. And a spank is nothing like a punch (which is what it sounds like you're describing). A spank is a swat where you swing you limb in a semicircular motion to gain kinetic energy and momentum to cause pain, not actual damage.
7014522 Athens maby?
7014934 There we go. Somebody got it.
7014522
Was it Athens?
7015093 Look at the comment I left just below yours.
7015114
Hmmm..... must've forgottan to refresh the page when I made that last comment.
Discord seems too helpful.
My take on reformed Discord is that he'll never directly solve a problem for a pony. Instead, he'll push them far enough out of their comfort zone to find the inspiration they need to solve their own problem, and he'll do it in such a way that it's never clear whether he was trying to help, or just amusing himself.
You could have him say Celestia owes him a favor for playing by her rules.
Also pony limbs seem too club-like for spanking. It would make more sense if parents nipped naughty foals with their teeth.
7014982 Ah, Athens. The city-state that was co-patroned by Poseidon/Neptune and Athena/Minerva. The Greek/Roman God of the Sea and Greek/Roman Goddess of Wisdom and Battle Strategy. I wonder what effect that will have on the story at large? Assuming it does have an effect.
Ohh shhiitt, finally finish up on your story. I knew since chapter 1 this story would or is going to be a great one. Amazing writer Truthseeker, you gotz those thinking outside the box does ye lol. Anyways, wanted to ask you a question. Did you ever have thoughts about making a side story that its just few guys and stallions hanging out and talking about crazy times at having trouble with women/mares. Dudes night out or some shit lol [youtube=https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J626Qcd7Glo]
7015418 No, but I specifically designed the Unity Pact world for spinoffs. Feel free to do so, I only ask that you keep the world more or less the same.
Fuck, srry for sec post but forgot to put something in. "I knew since the First story, its going to be great."
7015438 It will be something alright.
your
You're still spelling sergeant phonetically as sargent.
I think I found the piece of context that explains why Celestia would appoint Discord to act on her behalf.
I got to know, is the watersports stuff they were talking about before actually a reference to Zeus and Danaë?
7018829 'Watersports'?
7018848
When the ponies were talking about humans pissing on their mates.
I assumed that the myth could be (and sometimes is) construed as this thing and that the ponies stumbled into a version of it.
7018901 No, sorry I'm not familiar with the reference.
Not sure if I am just thick in the head but has anyone else realized that Artex actually did the guards that participated in the massacre a favor as well when he opened up the gender specific occupations.
I mean so far we have seen alot of situations of mares joining the guard or local law enforcement, but he also made it so that stallions can become doctors. I point this out as before the best job they could get was in those fields, a profession that all those that participated in the massacre by Luna's orders are forever barred from. With this opening of the job market it means those that survive their punishment have more employment opportunities than they would have otherwise. Who knows some of those stallions or others may not have been meant to be guards and are now exploring job's that their cutie marks and talents are more suited towards just like the mares we have seen thus far.
7019156 I would say you are the first to mention that. Nobody else has ever commented on it.
7025983 Nope. That's where the murder comes in. The pony pee pee dance during The Last Roundup that's adorable.
7023884
Didn't comment on it because the current generation of stallions wouldn't have had the education they need to take advantage of all the career opportunities that just opened up for them. Why allow them in med school if they can't be doctors?
It's their children who will benefit from the equality law.
Are there any plans in place to address the education gap by providing free college tuition to stallions, to make up for the opportunities previously denied to them?
SON OF A NYMPH! ACHILLES! THEY FOUND ACHILLES! Calling it now, and I haven't even finished the chapter
I don't recall a apology to a certain nurse sadly.
Though its a nice touch that your hitting up some of the plot lingering in the background.
So here's what I understand so far about Chris and making a pathway back to Earth, he's capable of making the pathway, but lacks the magical power to do so.
Solution? Increase the power:
Just don't give him too much or else:
7034349 But remember noun/verb levels are exponential, not additive. Two 3's don't make a 4, like ten-plus 3's might total somewhere near a 4, and a hundred 4's might be near a 5.
Are they from the Minos civilization?
Umm if we are going to believe in the Greek culture with all their gods and mythological creatures, the museum might have it right. The greek king Minos feed 14 peeps to the minotaurs every 9 years.
And if Crash Course had the golden fleece, his skin would be as tough as diamonds.
Reading back through the comments, I am surprised that nobody ever commented on Song Breeze, the Martial Arts Master.
Let me guess...
She's the fifth member.
Channeling my inner grammar nazi...
...I found a new typo for you to kill
Even though you had Discord imitating Celestia, but cleverly set the comments in a separate set of double quotes from his own voice, but since Discord was actually quoting Celestia, the entire thing STILL needs to be single quoted inside the double quotes, as below:
10237697 Meh, not a big deal to me. I appreciate the effort though.
7029658
Damn! That sounds legit.
