I am loving this in so many ways, the fact that their are deep emotions being expressed in ways I've not read of for some time, I love that when you use a word I don't know the meaning for it feels like you are actually using it correctly and not just trying to sound smart by using words you don't fully riboflavin, and I love that all the characters feel like they are themselves.

Finally, the M rating is warranted
My thoughts: I am beyond happy that this story continued. It had been one of my favorites years ago, and I honestly thought you had just kind of moved on. Seeing it update frequently is delightful, and I believe you've done a good job on multiple fronts.
First, the BDSM elements in this story have a role. It's not just fun for fun. There is emotional weight, meaning, and purpose loaded into the encounters that happen. They are complementary to the story at large, which has its own facets of intrigue that are worth exploring. Trixie's history, the reasons Celestia has addressed things the way she has, elements lurking in the shadows -- just to name a few.
Oh goodness...

Thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad that you've been, and still are, enjoying The Ties That Bind! It's been fun writing it, even if it has seemed as if it's taken off with a life of its own. Based upon my basic notes, I don't think I've hit the 1/2 point, let alone the 1/3! I'm glad it feels as if everything is a comprehensive "whole" . . . from the inside looking out, that's not always easy to perceive. It's also not easy --at least, for me, anyway-- to keep accurate track of continuity; I'm always anxious that something I've stated in a previous chapter is contradicted in a later one.
Again, thank you very much!

Is that a bad thing?

Ah . . . what makes you think she'll be that nice?

Not really, liked and still like Of Maids and Misteresses

Discontinuities are always a pain. They happen sometimes. Much like the lingering typo, they lurk in the shadows waiting to strike....
My only concern is that the bdsm elements have yet to emotionally tie in with the rest of the story in a significant way. For Twilight, I can see a connection between her fantasies and her tendency to overorganize and overthink, but Twilight's arc in this story has been more about her being a helpful friend than dealing with her own obsessiveness. You could have, for example, referenced Twilight's stress-relief desires in situations in which she is stressful, or also show her growing desire to dominate as well throughout the story.
Trixie, on the other hand, has shown even less relation between her cutie mark struggles (which now appears to be her main character arc) and her fetishes. Still, there's more story for me to read, so I'll soon find out if these things change.
This scene was good, but I think it could have been better if it was more of an emotional pay-off.
