*GASP* It's an update!
milesprower06, I've been wanting to say something for quite a while now.
Thank you.
Again and again, you brought the pleasures of reading to us through every additional chapter to this story. You were consistent and unfailing. You probably helped a good amount of people with getting over Cupcakes too.
Best of all, you gave closure to us. Here's another chapter I can close on my life. If anyone ever asks me how Cupcakes ended, I'll simply tell them that the original ending was a straight up lie.
And I'll direct them to this story instead. It's better for everyone and everypony.
I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you're not injured? Your message that life is to be cherished could not be truer. Indeed, a brush with death or death itself could come any time. Sorry, but I can't help but remarking that you're a tough bastard.
Keep writing, man.
We need to go back to playing Halo some time. You still have my GT?
Again, thank you so much.
588994 I am injured, probably the worst injury in my life so far - 7 stitches in my left forearm.
Huzzah! The Cupcake Chronicles updated!
...
Epilogue, but it's still listed as incomplete?
...
ALL MY FEELS, ALL OF THEM
...
“And you won't believe how the rainbows are made.”
you...you wouldn't...you couldn't...could you?
589009
I'm very sorry to hear that. I pray that there's no lasting injury.
But, at the very least, you're still with us, friend.
OH GOD NO NOT THE RAINBOW FACTORY AND SCOOTS NO JUST NO
Why didn't this show up as an update on my favorites list...?
Oh, well! Excellent epilogue, sir. You've made me proud to be a brony.
589026 Still listed as incomplete as I hope to do some side stories, and at least a deleted scenes making-of type of chapter.
589032 And this is the first of what I hope is MANY freak outs to this little reference, lolol.
Ok, now that I've read the whole thing, is this actually completed? If so, it might've been better (IMO) to just call the chapter Epilogue. And thanks for brining us along for the ride! Certainly well thought out.
Great description of th choreography (and nothing went wrong!), it was vivid and really cool.
And dat ending…you tease…
Seriously, that was hilarious.
589119 Not sure if I want to rule this as complete. Any side stories will go in here as well, and I'm planning an author's notes deleted scenes kinda thing soon too.
589157 That it would be, hehe.
589242 No. Just threw that i there to freak people out just like the SHED.MOV joke.
I'm just going to get this out of the way real quick right now. I'm kind of upset that you ended it with that Rainbow Factory hint. This was such a sweet and awesome story, and it was an epic and touching conclusion,so ending it on a creepy vibe just seemed.....wrong
Now that that's out of the way, holy sweaty balls, this story was too epic for words. Easily in my list of top 5 fics ever.It was emotional, suspensefull, scary as hell in the Journal chapters, and an all around feel good story.I can't thank you enough for writing this.
Also, you're one tough SOB and I hope your injuries heal up soon.
Thanks for the awesome story bro
i love this story
btw so now that the epilogue is published
does it mean its over?
i still see it has its incomplete tag
Amazing epilogue, very touching.
588994 I agree with AC. Forget Sarge's "canonical" ending, I thoroughly enjoyed this, from A Precious Rainbow to Rainbow After The Storm. For that, you get a thumbs up, smiling ponies, and one victory sign by Sergeant Keroro.
EDIT: ...or you would get Sergeant Keroro, if the link was working.
Five Stars and all my thanks sir. Excellent story that I loved, you are a brilliant author and I admire your work greatly.
589009 Well, shit, lad. You put me right to shame. I just got a little stabbed, and here I was taking a good six months off.
You know what you are?
You're damn well inspiring, you are. You put out one of the best damn stories I've ever read, and you do it after taking on a truck.
Seriously, did you dropkick the son of a bitch? That's the only activity I can think of badass enough for you to have collided with one.
And 'brush with death'? Seriously?
No no no. That was NOT a 'brush with death'.
That was a 'brush with MilesPrower06'. Death's still hiding in a corner attempting to clean himself up after he utterly SHIT HIMSELF.
Rock on, lad.
Well... ending is too happy for me. I expected it to be more... bittersweet. It's still good but... I don't like 100% happy endings much. I'd prefer just grey one, without this recovery thing. But this is just my opinion. Great work through. The story is one of more memorable one's on this site.
589448 I was driving the truck, which was involved in a rollover.
Good chapter! Maybe you should have a side story thing happen, where its sometime down the raod and maybe because of help from Twilight, one of the two get pregnant?
589467 Was it hit by a meteor at the time? That has the required levels of badass.
But in all reality, bloody glad you're alright.
589573 I considered that some time ago, even before the planning of RATS, but decided against it, because I don't believe I could come anywhere close to how awesome Applejoy made that premise.
589467
Closest I've ever been to the injuries you describe is when I absolutely demolished my nose against a bus seat. Needless to say, when a schoolbus wrecks, it wrecks hard. That's a day of my life I'll never completely forget, and still flashback to from time to time. My nose is still crooked from it, and I can barely breathe through one side.
But the fact remains for us both. We both stared death in the face, and managed to get away from it alive. You will never, ever forget this experience, but you'll know that you walked away from what could have killed you every moment of your life. There's a kind of calm, a peace and acceptance you get after an experience like this. I could die at any moment now, and I think I'd be okay with it. I've lived a better life than I did before the accident. I've enjoyed myself more.
I hope you can do the same. I hope you move forward from this violent act you suffered, and can be calmer about things, and more accepting of what happens in life. I hope you can enjoy the little things more, and take the time to slow down and appreciate life.
He sais if you can get him one of your apple pies after each show
1. Says.
But other than that, dayum son hope those 7 stitches fade away some bit and looks better after some time. People might hate at me for being a grammar nazi at a moment like this but that's part of who I am. I share the same reaction to that last line. FFFUUUUUUUU... but otherwise this is a touching story. Call me sappy but this felt heartwarming. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Lyra.png
I wanted to wait until you posted the epilogue before asking this, but seeing as how it wasn't addressed I'll go ahead and ask. What was the deal with ghost Pinkimena? How was she able to create earthquakes, or how would it have been possible for her to have a complete physical resurrection? For as powerful as you made her and as much buildup as you had to that confrontation, Pinkimena was defeated way too easily imo.
The Rainbow Factory reference cracked me up.

My heart stopped a little bit when I got on and saw that the number of favorites left to read had increased by one. Somehow, I knew that it would be this one. Hesitating, I clicked on the little star, and saw, "The Cupcake Chronicles" with a little green "Complete" tag.
This was one of the best chapters, as is to be expected. You drew many manly tears from this brony. I'm a sucker for a happy ending, and this one definitely qualifies. The raw pathos in the scene between Rainbow and her estranged parents was what made me cry the most, knowing the pain of disapproving parents and the joy of making up.
(Just a little nitpicking in between singing your praises: when I read the letter to Princess Celestia, it just doesn't sound like Dash to me. I think the only time I can remember Dash sending a letter to Celestia, she basically rushed the gist of it to Spike before flying off to read Daring Do.)
It is with supreme regret that I lay this fic aside. It is of superior quality and much greater quantity than the fanfic by which it was inspired. I don't even know what it is that so attracted me. Perhaps it was the length. Maybe it was the emotion that I felt when I first clicked on the "Alternate Ending by Milesprower06" link on the Equestria Daily page. Here, I said as I scrolled down the page, is something on which it will be worthwhile to keep tabs.
I haven't been here since the beginning, which is a fact that I regret. As a brony relatively new to the scene, this was actually the fic that made shipping acceptable to me. (The sex, i can do without, but that's neither here nor there.)
So, I'd like to just say one thing, if you're willing to read the wall-o-text this comes with:
Thank you. Thanks for writing a superior story, one of hope, friendship, love, and healing. Thanks for sticking with it, even when things must have seemed hopeless. I'm glad that you're alright, and hope you heal up soon. Thank you, in short, for writing this.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with. For now, rest up; you've done a good job.
I've been reading this almost since it began, and I have to say: what an ending. Really.
A truck crash? 7 stitches? Bloody hell and a half! I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say 'Get Well Soon'.
Ooooh, side stories. Not over yet! This is still one of my favourite stories on the site, so I'm glad it's still going.
Also, Rainbow Factory? HAHA! Mildly amusing...
589177 You can be quite evil at times.
Great ending. I really enjoyed this story, the Wonderbolts' performance was a fantastic touch.
589052
I read making-of type of chapter as making-OUT chapter. I would like this too
I was debating with myself as to how this story would end. Would it be happy? Would it be sad? Would I be satisfied? I drew my own theories and waited (rather impatiently I might add.)
I can now safety say that this ending is by far the most brilliant conclusion you could have made. Such a truly fantastic summary of everything presented throughout the story is just indescribable.
So thank you, I loved every word of this story.
This is, and probably always will be, one of my most favourite stories....and it came from Cupcakes
On another note...
"And you won't believe how the rainbows are made.”

Also, sorry to hear about this accident of yours. Are you ok? I hope it's not serious
Manly tears were shed...this is the first time a fic has actually made me cry....
This is an absolutely outstanding ending. The choreography was beautiful, not just in description but in form.
It's kind of funny. I found MLP while recovering from a car wreck. 80 miles an hour on the highway, overcorrected a bit, smashed into a tree and ended up upside down in a ditch. I (somehow) walked away without a scratch, but I know what you're going through mentally. The fact that you made this chapter while going through that... Impressive, to say the least.
Did you HAVE to end it like that?
This was #&@)*&^#%&^$*&@.
That word? Yeah, my brain melted while trying to write about how awesome this story is, so it ended up looking like what you see above. That's right. There is no word which can describe this story which can be understood by human ears.
I just, I don't know what else to say. I just can't find any fault with this story at all. The characters, the emotion, the action, it's just all perfect.
I will say that if you continue with side stories or something like that, I'd like to see more of AJ and RD being together (and maybe AJ can use one of the ideas she had from part 5 of this story ).
*Cough* That said, this was just amazing, and I can say that it's my favorite alternate ending of the original story.
I started reading this a long long time ago (back when you could only really read it off google docs) and am amazed and saddened to see it end. Incredible story.
HEY
I FUCKING LOVE YOU
1. you take cupcakes an awesome fic turn it into something awesomer and throw rainbow factory in whats next cheerilees garden
2. you dropkicked a truck while fighting chuck norris in the midst of a meteor shower while lauren faust is in a cheerleader costume
Wow that was one Amazing story, that was one hell of a ending. I wanted to wright something else but it my bain as melted do to your awesome story telling. And I hope for your speedy recovery.
593490 I was driving the truck.
595134
doesn't matter you still did it
595134
So what your saying is :
You dropkicked the truck WHILE IN THE TRUCK Fighting Chuck Norris in a meteor shower.
595849 I'm saying the three of us are lucky to be alive.
I have to say, in my mind you redeemed your story after the whole pinkimena comes back thing. The airshow seemed like it was difficult to come up with, but it all paid off. I also enjoyed how you got back into the origional feel of this. Like I said, this story is great in almost every way, an amazingly crafted emotional peice for all new ones to be compared to.
Three more things I'd like to mention. 1st: get better soon, man. 2nd: I caught that Rainbow Factory reference, you sneaky son of a mare. Lastly, I am very much interested in the side stories idea. I would like to see how RD and AJ cope with being apart.
followed this from before the epilogue for A Precious Rainbow came out on your fanfic page, and have dilligently followed it from there. Absolutely amazing work.
That was a great story. Sad to see it end though. Also congratulations for not dying!!!
Dat allusion ending dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_TwilightWut.png
This ending was....... satisfactory. Still, Borderline prevails to me as the best sequel. If this had a more bittersweet ending, perhaps it would be more then a match.
But that is my personal oppinion. Have a good day.
Fun fact: sat down and read the whole fic in one sitting in 6-7 hours.
