Rainbow Roadtrip, mid-Season 9 special
Remember Student Counsel, and how Trixie was flipping out at Starlight? How Trixie was talking about the difference between buying a cake and making one, and we were all impressed at how funny they made it? Rainbow Roadtrip was like that, except if they were unable to make the mundane funny. For half and hour. I just stopped watching. Around the time RD meets her fanclub.

Scene Rating Scale:
9/9: Flawless! Outstanding scene!
8/9: Great scene! Totally Rewatchable!
7/9: Pretty good. Not as perfect as I expected though.
6/9: Decent. Doesn’t ruin the movie/episode.
5/9: Mid.
4/9: Pretty bad. One of the weakest scenes of the movie/episode.
---Season 9--Episode 9---
This episode felt like it was trying to do for dragons and Garble what “Lost Treasure of Griffinstone” did for griffins and Gilda. There are a few issues with that concept on paper. (This is credited to Kim Beyer-Johnson, the person behind Non-Compete Clause. While episodes aren't really written by only one or two people, I still felt like we'd dodged a bullet. This just being an OK episode overall is fine).
This episode features a return to the dragon lands; though its popped up occasionally in episodes like Shadow Play, this is the first time its truly been a vital backdrop since Gauntlet of Fire, 3 seasons prior. Neither that episode nor Dragon Quest are well-regarded by fans, but I actually quite like them both (in particular, I've never really understood the hate Dragon Quest sometimes receives; it's no Spike at Your Service, let alone a Princess Spike). So this episode has that to make me
Rating Scale:
12/10—a complete masterpiece; flawless and outstanding
11/10—Excellent, near-perfect film
10/10—the standard rating; awesome film with a couple of flaws
9/10—a wonderful film with several flaws
8/10–a great film with numerous flaws but not enough to ruin it
