...So, this was a thing. · 5:45pm Jul 25th, 2019
Yes, this happened. Better yet, the actual science here is actually quite sound.
"He makes Gozer look like Little Mary Sunshine." -A massive understatement from Egon.

So I finally saw Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (that's the current official title of the 2016 movie) for the first time last night.
I have some notes.
Zef: Out of the theater, on my way to the subway
Moth: What's the verdict?
Zef: Ghostbusters was FUN :D
Moth: Heh
Moth: So the trailers were just really badly cut?
Zef: Gonna see it again tomorrow
Zef: Yes
Zef: And the cgi in the film is much better
So there you have it. Good movie, bad trailers.
I'll watch it when it hits On Demand later this year. (Still need to watch Zootopia and Deadpool... T_T)
Greetings and salutations, my name is Wrex and this is my review. Grab those phones and dial the number below, cause I'm reviewing The Pony Ghostbusters trilogy, Self explanatory crossover. In this story, the iconic Ghostbusters go to Equestria to stop an infamous ghost. Amazingly, this story ends up having a snowball effect that leads to the two sequels. It's pretty impressive for the usage of the old cartoon series. This trilogy shows that old wounds can come back to haunt you, that adventure
...Eh.
I think that sums it up. Eh.
Two brilliant but 'eccentric' ones, the goof-ball with social skills, and the afro-american Joe Jane Average with a sense of humor.
Playing it a bit safe after that shocking twist of nobody in the main cast having an y-chromosome, I see. Yeah, that is clearly enough for them to count as new characters.
First off: new Blender short film. If you liked Laika's Paranorman, you'll know some of the character designs. If you'd like to see a horror movie with Smurfs in it... yeah, that's basically what you're getting. Fair warning: rated T. Very much not PG-rated.
Second surprise: Ghostbusters game.
A couple of days ago, we saw the release of the trailer for the new, all lady version of the Ghostbusters. For those of you who haven't seen it, it is below.
I have some severe mixed feelings about this movie.
Holy fuck!
I kid you not: I went from butterflies in my stomach dreading that my childhood obsession was about to get the 'Transformers' treatment, to laughing so hard that my mom had to elbow me as to not ruin it for the other watchers.
Honestly, for me? This was on par with the original. They nailed the tone and cast in this one, without the characters being gender-flipped carbon-copies of the originals.
Good news! In the next 36 hours, I will be releasing my newest crossover, "The Real Pony Ghostbusters".
I hope you'll give it a read if you're a fan! Basically, its the story of Manehattan's Ghostbuster team, alluded to slightly during the IDW MLP comic at the end of the first arc.
Yes, this is totally a thing now.
....now let's check for cats and dogs living together, cause surely this must be generating mass hysteria.
"Here's something from a movie from the 80s! We've got something big coming your way Canterlot High!"
References and ideas are happening!
And I think this song would be pretty good for Amethyst's 80s playlist.
Or how about some more 80s nostalgia.
(Above this text: Richard Roeper's review of one of Columbia's latest pictures, Ghostbusters, and his reaction to the flack he got for it. Below this text: A still from the remake of the 1984 classic.]
July is traditionally the silly season, when a lack of serious news forces media outlets to report UFO sightings and such like.
Now, I haven't been shy about not being a fan of Epic's bribe-to-victory strategy, plus a whole slew of anti-consumer crap I'm not going to dwell further on...
But they're giving away Ghostbusters: The Video Game right now, and that game has a special place in my heart.
Or at least I tried to. My PS2 has stopped spinning disks completely so I can't play any games on it at all. That being said I have played Ghostbusters on the PS2 before and am willing to share my thoughts on it. This won't be a review of that game, as I can't dive deeper into it right now. But I'm still going to compare it to the PS3 copy that I did play.
Alright, the story will have its final chapter up tomorrow evening!
I mostly wrote this story because I couldn't forget about the team of Ghostbusters that probably existed, but were never named during the IDW MLP comic's first arc.
Most of my writing comes from ideas I can't shake. I'm glad that I pursued this one though, Ghostbusters is one of my all time favorite movies.
Ooooook.... all women cast... meh, I'll give this movie a fair chance.
*looks at comments*
Dramatization: "Oh well the black woman is sassy! I'm fucking triggered! WAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAH RACIST RACIST!"
Dramatization of a comment from a fanboy: "What are woman doing outside of the kitchen?! Why do they have women as the main cast?!?! Waaaaaaahhhh!"
I FINALLY got a chance to see "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", and it was pretty good! Not PERFECT, but then nothing not made by me ever could be!
This is how you do passing the torch RIGHT. Nobody got crapped on, and the newbs weren't elevated into these perfect people who could do no wrong. It really felt like a fusion of "Ghostbusters" and "The Monster Squad", which really worked well.
