Ghostbusters: The Video Game free on Epic · 9:47am Oct 30th, 2020

Now, I haven't been shy about not being a fan of Epic's bribe-to-victory strategy, plus a whole slew of anti-consumer crap I'm not going to dwell further on...

But they're giving away Ghostbusters: The Video Game right now, and that game has a special place in my heart.

Loved Ghostbusters. Have since I was a kid. Heck, I'm about... one in a billion that even loved the new reboot movie. Heck, I've genuinely had people be aghast by claiming I consider #2 as good as the first movie.

So I say this as a super fan: The sadly defunct Terminal Reality nailed the Ghostbusters license. Slam freaking dunk.

Almost the entire original cast reprising their characters, the dearly departed Harold Ramis included in one of his last roles. More references then you can shake the proverbial stick at. A plot that's basically the third movie that never got out of development hell, and ties a really neat bow on quite a few plot threads from the movies. Rooms and destructibles that makes you all but reenact the ballroom scene with every fight.

Heck, they even nailed that almost unique Ghostbusters tone, square in the middle between comedy and horror without either one overpowering the other. To this day, almost ten years after original release, I consider this game the gold standard for a license title.

So... yeah, can probably tell from me gushing and breaking my personal rule on 'no Epic stuff,' but this one's special, and I'd happily recommend anybody with an Epic account nab this one.

Link to nab it.

Also, that semi-recent Blair Witch game. Heard decent things, but haven't played it myself, but eh, why not mention it?
