Last time, Axis_of_rotation asked me to review the IDW My Little Pony comics. I didn't think I had much to say about them, but after catching up on all the issues I'd missed, I got inspired. So I'm gonna try writing a new series of posts about them, with a different format from these book reviews.

Which is heavier? 129 pages of a Cadance book, or 146 pages of Rarity book? The first one, because I'm only 1/3 through that new book, so instead I decided to re-read the entire Rarity book to review it instead. It helps that I already knew what I wanted to say about it.
Also the Princess Cadance book is in hardcover, because alicorn perks. Obviously that makes it heavier.
Discord book is still next week, don't worry.
I've been delaying this one for a while, but here it is. the most complex and rambling review I've written yet. this one's gonna be really weird, and perhaps controversial. can you trust me on this one?
Princess Cadance and The Spring Hearts Garden

Buy this book. Seriously, do it right now. I've just bought it myself and I think it's wonderful. Very funny, some excellent Discord'n'Pinkie moments, a really nice reference right at the end and a generally interesting central story. And yes, Discord is very well in character. Also, we get "Princess Twilight's castle" in one paragraph and then, in the very next paragraph, "that hideous monstrosity on the edge of town". Okay, referring to somewhere else -- but was that really

I want the new G. M. Berrow book about Starlight Glimmer. I hear it's pretty good. I'd rather be reading about Glimglam, so out of spite I'm delaying the Discord book another week.
Let's get one of the weaker ones out of the way instead.
Fluttershy and The Fine Furry Friends Fair

Howdy folks! Well, I had a fun weekend. I ended up driving Thursday afternoon (managing to get to Portland at 3pm, just in time for the traffic to go to hell) and drove back Sunday evening (managing to hit a section of I-5 where they closed all but one lane at 10 PM, creating a huge traffic jam in the middle of nowhere), and had a total blast the whole time in-between.
So there's about six posts at once I need to write — including a con wrap-up, and reviews for all the 80 Days crossover fics that have come in — but this is the most important to post quickly as I get everything unpacked and struggle to catch back up.
So here is a cool thing: On Sunday, outside of Quills & Sofas, we took a group photo of as many authors as we could round up.

GM Berrow is true master at the art of the pony place-name pun, that unique literary device which makes our genre of writing so supremely equine.
As almost all the community panels I attended were from people on FIMFiction, I trust they will post some of their notes or thoughts on those panels. If not, then I’ll have to steal all their ideas and seem super smart.
And I have some thoughts myself that I’m going to write up as proper articles about some stuff regardless.
Well, I have a nasty cold. It was 100 degrees and dry when I left California a week ago, and now it is close to 50 degrees and rainy. I called in sick and tried to rest. Today I also got all my mail delivered, and this book was released.

Finished reading Princess Cadance book, but I don't feel like reviewing it just yet. As further irrational punishment, Discord book has been pushed forward to the previous week!
This Rainbow Dash book is a weird book, so I'm going to review it in a weird way. The next part below the break is going to seem completely unrelated. And it is. But trust me on this. I'd never leave Ponyville hanging. 
Having no ISP connection for 2 days is painful and boring. But that got me to finally read the Daring Do books so I can churn out a quick review on them.
The convention’s events did not start in earnest until midday, so I spent time going through the schedule and making calendar entries for panels I wished to attend. Then I got a text message.
