To me Celestia is like a magnificent mother I happen to have too many feelings for.I wish that I could be so grossly incandescent.

Just a story about two background humans eating cookies...or is it?

After watching "Equestria Girls", I found a ton of material to use for a "third installment" in the "Two Background Ponies" saga. So much I almost couldn't fit it in. Naturally, if you haven't read "Two Background Ponies Eating Cookies" or "Two Background Ponies At A Donut Shop", the whole concept would probably be a mystery to you, so read those first. Again, I'd ideally like to see this on stage...but this one would require another big cast. Less props, though, considering its humans this time.

Just a story about two background ponies at a donut shop...or is it?

I wanted to do a sequel to "Two Background Ponies Eating Cookies" after seeing how popular it was, but I was short on material as I pretty much hit all my nuances with the show in the first installment. I basically had to change things up a bit. This might still work as an on-stage production, but it would have to be an ensemble (something more akin to what "Second City" might do) than just a dialogue.

I regret to say I don't think this is quite as good as the first. Since I am already aware of that, please don't overload the comments with things like: "Not as good as the first", "The first was better", "This was alright but the first was funnier", etc.

Just a story about two background ponies eating cookies...or is it?

This differs from my usual fare. Basically, it's a short, comedic look at what happens when a couple of otherwise mute and indifferent background ponies decide to one day start pondering their own existence. It's more mature than my regular stuff...definitely for the older audience.

This story was originally a script for an on-stage dialogue between two actors with minimal props. (Namely, a table, two chairs, and a plate of cookies...with maybe one or two bits of costuming just to make the audience know from the start that they're representing background ponies.) But as this site doesn't accept scripts, I've translated it into prose.

The legend is known throughout Equestria, but there are few who believe. Those who claim to have seen the beast are dismissed as crackpots and madponies. Those who bring evidence before the world are dismissed as histrionic deceivers. There are those who have seen, however -- those who know -- and they will forever cry out their warning from the back seats of filthy, old train cars, even to those who dismiss them, who revile them, who ignore their warnings unto their own mortal peril.

"The sasquatch is real!" they will cry forevermore, even as nopony believes.

But from this day forward, Sassy Saddles will believe.

Written on a dare. I apologize for nothing.
