So much for that hiatus, I guess.
Well, sorta. I'm still trying to take a bit of a breather. But this was for a contest (Omegathyst's Hot Pony Summer Contest) that had an exciting amount of prize money, and I figured why not at least try? I don't expect much given this is pure silly shipping fluff. But readers seem to like it so far, so hooray! If you enjoy short shipfics, G5 stories and SunIzzy, this one's for you. (Fun fact: Give or take When Tom Cat Met Angel Bunny, which is really more about the title characters and not so much Fluttershy, this is my very first story to center on pony characters in pony form!)
Plus, I was feeling some writing energy after just attending Everfree Northwest, my first Pony convention, which was a lot of fun. I got to meet a number of names from the community, including Omegathyst, Admiral Biscuit and FanOfMostEverything! I also got to attend some really cool panels, buy some neat artwork and get my first MLP autographs, specifically from Kelly Sheridan (Starlight Glimmer) and Mariÿke Hendrikse (Gilda and Sonata Dusk).
(Context for the second picture: At a panel, Mariÿke was asked what Sonata's second-favorite food was after tacos. She responded with a lovingly detailed description of a specific sorbet that I wish I'd recorded. So when she asked if I had anything I wanted her to write, I suggested "It's Sorbet Saturday!")
Sadly, I wasn't able to attend Iron Author, so I don't have a story from there. But it was still a worthwhile experience from a fanfic author's perspective, as well as that of a fan of the show in general. Anyway, if any of you were there and I didn't get to meet you, apologies. Assuming you wanted to, which is admittedly a sizable assumption. It's been a busy month for me in pony world, so hopefully I can cool off for a bit.
By the way, if you haven't read my other fics from August, here they are. Thank you so much to anyone who's read either or both. It was amazing to see What My Destiny is Telling Me in the feature box as long as it was and I look forward to doing more with its AU down the line.
