I often dish out honourable mentions ("hon menshes") for the little Flashfic 150 contests I run. So it's a novel, and let me tell you extremely pleasant, experience to be on the receiving end of one! I'm very flattered to say I was awarded an honourable mention in Bicyclette's wonderful "A Thousand Words Contest" a few hours ago for Echoes of a Song, my little Fluttershy/Rarity sad friendshipping fic. I'm actually now really interested in writing some more thousand-words-exactly fics, even outside the constraints of a contest. Will it actually happen? We'll see. But I'm more motivated to actually write stuff than I have been for a while.

Thank you! I wasn't really expecting anything from this, but I'll take it! And as it happens yes, this has given me some more ideas for writing things. Just don't go expecting any 100,000 word novels from me.
