Routine day with a dirt cheap brush, then a week goes by and it goes untouched. Then two, then three, then a month, and the rest of your life you beat yourself up. - Aesop Rock, "Rings"

EWet Behind The Ears
The ponies of Maretime Bay don't know the lone Sea Pony who lives near their shoreline. She knows them, though. If only she could find a way up there...

Title says it all. The fic is back after a minor debacle detailed here. Many thanks to the artist Ahobobo for supplying a new cover photo. Behold Bluegill Brine, Maretime Bay's solitary Seapony.

Oh hey! It's good to have this back; great job on being able to bounce back, Casket.

Yeah, normally in my experience artists don't mind this sort of thing so long as you credit them, but I had a similar event happen to me before. Though I didn't actually use the character too, so I only ended up removing the cover.

I don't mind gatekeeping one's artwork but saying "you can't do your own art about my character even if you say it's unofficial" has always rubbed me the wrong way—particularly in a fandom based on existing IP. Glad to see it return.

Like I mentioned in the first blog post, Rexy DM’d and informed me he was actually planning a comic for Koi. This meant my moderately popular story was getting out ahead of him and giving the fanbase the wrong first impression of his character.

Knowing that, I was sympathetic and altered the story out of respect. No bad blood was brewed between us. And hey, just few days ago Rexy tweeted some new drawings of Koi in what look like action poses. Maybe a trial run for the promised comic?

I wish Rexy all the best. From one content creator to another.

This is all awesome, and I wasn't suggesting you were doing the wrong thing (to be clear).
