Dreams are really important to me as sources of wonder, inspiration and sometimes just plain entertainment, which is why I like telling people about them.
I have heard mumblings that people do not like hearing about dreams others have had. I politely tell those mumblings to stuff it.
So I was Twilight, or maybe Sci-Twi. I think this started out as ponies but became EQG in the final scene, hence the confusion. The setup was like this:
Long stretch of trees going uphill to like, a sheltered area. Kind of a home built into a hill with one wall missing. Clearly interior furnishings.
And right in front of that opening is a big pillar, in front of which sits... the basilisk!
It's like a big lizardy monster, and its head is swinging to and fro as it vigilantly guards its... house? Whatever.
So you have to wait until its head is off the ground -- it's swinging like a pendulum, pretty literally -- and then go run up behind the next tree. Do this enough times, you make it all the way up and you can run past it into the house. And yes, this is clearly a video game, there's even a HUD overlay.
So Twilight-me makes the first run of it, and though it is tense -- I have no idea what happens if the basilisk sees you, but, well, it's called a basilisk for a reason, probably -- I make it. And who else should just so happen to take the next plunge? Fluttershy. No one saw that coming!
And she joins Twilight in the house, and Twilight's like, "Wow, you were so brave! I'm proud of you! Here, have some cookies." Literal large butter cookies just waiting there for the victors???
Also, you can see from this side that the basilisk's body is just a wooden cutout in front of some large clockworks. Like, the head pendulum's pivot point is well above the top of the body, no wonder its head moved like that.
There. My horse-based dream for you. :B
I also had a dream the other night that a friend and I went to Weird Al's house -- it's a popular hangout for the kids, y'know -- and were very uncomfortable because there were like a dozen people there and none of them were wearing masks or social distancing. Gee, I wonder why I would be dreaming about that?
It's so rare that I dream about ponies. I think it's happened... three, maybe four times. Oddly enough, Applejack tends to be the most frequent visitor.
But just the other night I dreamt about going swimming with a mermaid Rarity. Which struck me as really funny after I woke up, because I haven't worked on Guppy Love in over a week. I'm all like, why did this pop into my head now?
But it was a fun dream. And later that evening I had an epiphany about how to fix some things in Guppy Love, so I'm certainly not complaining.
I'm hearing 'Dreams' by Beck while reading this.
Haven't had a memorable dream since I dreamed Putin chased me off a sharp mountain beside a monastery.

This one puts me at around 6-8 in the last ten years? I really envy Baron Engel sometimes. :B

Clearly, it was Putin's mountain. :V
People tend to like hearing my dreams because they tend to have narrative structure. I don't mind hearing yours!
Given my latest story involves Dreams I been reading up on them.
Dream interpretation and all that, but sometimes a dream is just a dream.
I do a version of Jungian dream interpretation, by the by. (Freud is hot garbage)
Definitely more structure to it than what I can recall most nights. And those usually involve me noticing the logical inconsistencies of a dream and complaining about them until I wake up because I'm thinking too much. That or trying to type something and constantly mashing Delete because I am the most cack-handed typist in dreams.
Still, fascinating stuff. I do love hearing about what others can bring back.
It’s rare that I have/remember such a fully fleshed out scene, but when I do it’s usually good story fodder. There’s at last one of those that I wrote down as a note and never developed beyond that...
I got the story TD's Little Rarity 1.5 from a dream. I got some of the story and had to know how it ended.
https://m.I've been in the form of a pony in a dream a surprising number of times by now. It's always fun when I can remember what was going on then. Though it does seem rather random how it happens. Sometimes I'm just a random pony , or sometimes I'm a pony from the show or from a story I read.

Political dreams always end up being the weirdest ones.
