I must admit, I did not count on so many votes for option 5.

1#: Arrive as an alicorn already?

2#: Should he ascend after doing something heroic?
I also would like to say my thanks to everyone who has partaken in the debate in the comment section. It was polite and respectful, and you guys had many neat ideas. Really guys, thank you so much. 
I would really love to see you guys keep sharing ideas and your thoughts, because it is my goal to keep the momentum going on this story and keep making it better. 
Since option 3 was in second place, here is an idea for you.
3+5: Daniel has arrived in Equestria (As an alicorn, or a normal pony for now?) But not in the place he counted on.. He has no idea where he is, or where to go. So he needs to find his way to Ponyville, to reunite with his friends and lovers. But changing from human to a pony is hard, and it is not as easy as it looks.. So not only dealing with being lost, he also deals with having to get used to being a pony. What dangers and adventures lies ahead for Daniel? We will have to wait and see.
What do you guys think?
Also, what sort of story should it be, should it be the journey itself that is the obstacle he has to overcome. Meeting perhaps one or two traveling companions?
Or, should we have a villain? Is so, what kind of villain? And why would he peruse Daniel? Maybe because of the hidden potential in humans?
At any rate, thank you for reading this long blog, and thank you again for taking your time. Hope you keep enjoying the story, and will enjoy the sequel when it is released.

Ok Daniel has come to Equestria as an alicorn and he wants to know why. Why him of a ll people. Then on his journey he finds pieces of the answer, then when he reaches Ponyville he come to understand why he became an alicorn.

I think that it should be both. Evil alicorn twin who is the villain trying to get the girls for himself.

Hmmm, maybe the reason he is an alicorn is because he has, ahem, mated , with all the elements of harmony, so he is sort of a guardian. That's why the evil Alicorn could be wanting the girls, to gain the power that lies buried within Daniel now?

Go for 1 and 3+5. That would be interesting
I don't know what kind of story the sequel would be, but if there is an enemy after Daniel, maybe that's because human have endless potential. The limit is only their imagination and if they want to work hard enough to realize it.
Another suggestion, try to make the story M rated. That way, you can make the story more flexible, colourful and interesting since there are so many possibilities without being limited because it's T rated.
Or maybe you can make a separate story about their *ahem* activity.

i vote #1 and 3+5 because him being a alicorn at the start will make him a target because of how poweful he is but since he just turned into a pony he has trouble with his powers and body. this will balance out him being too op at the start and give him a reason to train his powers.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking. I do not want him to seem all powerful and OP, he may be strong, but that doesn't mean buck if he doesn't know how to take one step without tripping.
Do 3+5 with a twist: he has amencia, he no idea where he is, why he's in Equestria, or why he knows the Mane 6 so well!
I vote #2 and 3+5 makes it mean something also I believe the journey is the destination no villain is needed. Or more preferable (for me anyway) just do away if the journey and have him meet them amnesiac or not and have something in the course of the romance cause him to ascend.

I honestly like AstralFlare42's idea. It works well. I might not be the biggest fan of him starting as an alicorn, but with him not having any idea how to control it his newly acquired powers are basically worthless. Of course now the question is what he would be the alicorn of.

i think a villain sould be like dimentio or jevil. they think they are right using chaos to make everything better but causing insanity and harm for others.
