Nightmare Night Report · 4:40pm Mar 2nd, 2020
Hey, folks. Just wanted to let you know where things stand with the main and side story.
After two months spent writing exclusively on Nightmare Night and now its side story, churning out six chapters and 50k words for the former and around five chapters and 14k words for the latter, it's shortly going to be time for me to step away from them and head back over to my military thriller that is Into the Storm: The Flight of Firefly.
Not quite yet, though. Reading it again, I'm not at all happy with the opening section of the latest chapter of the main story (part 28), so I'm going to overhaul it. I think my main mistake there was that I was trying too hard to use that section to advertise for the side story, and it lost reading flow and rhythm because of it. It got too bloated and lost focus of what it was supposed to be--a sideshow setup for a future chapter main scene. I'll preserve the original version of the chapter in a google doc for those who like it, and I'll let everyone know when an updated version of the chapter is available.
I'm also going to release two more smallish (~3-3.5k wordish) chapters for the side story before I put it and the main story on pause while I head back over to Firefly. Small chapters mean quicker turnaround, so I'm hoping to have them both released within a week.
I intend to release at least two Firefly chapters before coming back to Nightmare Night, and I reserve the right to turn out additional chapters of the side story in the meantime since they're short. The latter is up to five chapters, and you'll forgive me for advertising it again:

Botched initial release aside, I'm enjoying writing it--it's a refreshing change of pace to just be writing short chapters of pure clop and not worry about all the additional overhead the main story means. Give it a read and drop it a like if you enjoy it. If nothing else, I came up with a very unique use of mating magic in the latest chapter!
I'm so happy to see Firefly again. I can't feel too hard up with my lot in life having had the privilege of working on such great sex fiction but Firefly is my favorite of Firesight's children; I can't help but play favorites.
