A delicious dinner, fully paid for with my writing · 11:00pm Feb 3rd, 2020
Today, exactly one week ago, was a very important day. What you see on the picture below is the first dinner and food that I could pay with my writing:
After releasing Chapter 13 of "Letters to Cozy Glow", loyal, recurring reader Yosh-E-O who loves the story offered me a tip for writing this story. Two days later, I sent him my Paypal information and on the day after, I awoke to a message by him and found a nice, little donation of 4,35€ (about 4,81$) on my Paypal account.
I can hardly put into words what this donation means. The amount I got was enough to pay for a scrumptious dinner consisting of lasagna, one of my favourite dishes, a small dessert and a bottle of lemon ice tea to go along with it. And since I have to thank Cozy Glow for making it to the point of the first money my writing earned me, I celebrated it sufficiently by reading and catching up on "An UnCozy Reformation", the pioneer redemption fic for Cozy Glow, while consuming the food my writing paid for. I read the new chapters and then I gave the entire story a re-read.
And this, has been the very first dinner (and food in general) that I could pay for with my writing. No government funding. No money from stuff I sold. No odd job. Money purely from my own writing and the efforts I put in to make "Letters to Cozy Glow" a great story.
This is one great milestone. Since making a Patreon account and a Ko-fi account last year, I aim to take my writing and my author life to the next level, the level of earning money with my writing. Last week, this has happened for the very first time and it is an invigorating and energizing feeling like I've never felt it before. It motivates me to keep going more than anything did lately and never before has any food I ate tasted that good.
I have already given my deepest thank yous to Yosh-E-O in a private message, so all that is left to say is that I will keep working hard to build on this milestone. Living off of my writing is the biggest goal in my life. It means not only financial security, it most importantly means freedom.
Now I am an important step closer to this freedom and I will keep striving for it with everything I have. Together with the foals and fillies I am writing about, I will eventually get there and work myself all the way up.
Stay easy as a filly!
