A new chapter of Man Cannot Live on Coffee Alone is up! The long-awaited Festival of Friendship arc begins.
This chapter is a departure from the slice-of-life romantic comedy that all the previous parts of the fic have been. I'm pretty excited, because it's an opportunity to really play with Jake as a character and put him into a unique situation. I hope everyone enjoys, even if it is very different, thematically, from the previous chapters.
This was honestly a great chapter to come back to, because it was so different. As I'm refining my writing and getting back into the groove, dealing with this chapter was a good opportunity to shake off the rust of a year and a half away from FimFic. Not that I haven't been writing anything at all over the last almost-two-years! Just, getting back into the groove of proper writing and the editing passes and whatnot. It's been really fun and exhilarating!
I'm very happy to publish this chapter. We've got a short interlude chapter coming up, focusing on a side character and a long-awaited face-off. And then it'll be back to Jake, finishing the arc!
