    State of the Unicorn: Poor

That's poor in both senses, I'm afraid! Though before I say any more, I need to stress that I have a warm, safe home, enough to eat, internet access... the essentials, really. I am not in danger of losing those. However, I won't be doing much beyond those essentials for a while. Without going into boring details, I will very shortly be going in for dental work to be done. Which, as

    Happy Hearth's Warming Eve!

I keep my online activity to an absolute minimum on Christmas Day, so I'll take this opportunity to wish all of you reading this a Merry Christmas!ยน However life has treated you over the past year, I hope it treats you better over the next. I shall be back to reading Fimfiction on Boxing Day!

    So then, Doctor Who

Loved it! A few little quibbles, not all the acting from the newcomers was stellar and sadly parts of the gender-related stuff felt awkward and forced, eg "something a male-presenting Time Lord wouldn't understand", but I liked much more than I didn't. Plus one of my worries about the new Disney-cash-infused Who has been dispelled: this definitely did

    Bloody Covid

Fortunately not in the literal sense! But yeah, I'm currently stuck at home, yet not feeling well enough to concentrate on ponyfic. It's a seriously annoying combination. :pinkiesick:

    UK PonyCon report

This is inelegantly copy/pasted over from the (slightly) nicer looking report over on Louder Yay. Of course, I'm sure you all read Louder Yay anyway because you're such great people, but just in case here's the report here as well...

In which Logan is slightly irritable · 6:38pm Jan 22nd, 2020

Something I've seen a startling amount of recently has been people making blog posts here as if they were tweets. By that I mean ignoring capital letters, punctuation and all those other fun things. Not just making the odd typo -- we all do that -- but, in some cases, writing entire posts without a single cap or full stop. Now, how you form your social media posts or Discord messages is entirely your concern. But if you're going to ask for help on improving your writing, on a site dedicated to writing, in a group for writers, then please, for the love of Celestia, stop it with the "pinkie pie" (or, worse yet, "pinky pie") stuff, will you? Please? Thank you.

Huh. I don't believe I've encountered that often, if at all. Though I can understand it being frustrating.

but we haz phonz to keep our pone up to date and big thumbz

People really should pay attention to they're grammer and speling.

A longstanding and widespread source of irritation, to be sure, although I've seen very little of it here.

The Writer's Group is one place I've seen it several times recently. A couple of others, though it's very patchy so if you don't happen to use the groups in question, it's not surprising it hasn't caught your eye. Not generally a big deal, just something I felt like having a mild whinge about. :rainbowwild:

I wanted to make a joke post here where I use horrible grammar, but I honestly can't force myself to do it.

So I'll get Zu to do it for me.
