Probably most of y’all who read these things know about Business Trip and Mr. Jones Goes to Equestria, and if you were waiting for another installment about the ponies of the Mareiott, good news!

AlwaysDressesInStyle has begun the backstory we all knew we needed.

Five years ago, sixteen mares founded a hotel in New Jersey called the Mareiott. These are their stories.

Following one of my own formulas of finding obscure ponies and writing stories about them, AlwaysDressesInStyle has come out the gate with a pony so obscure there was only a toy of her, and you can count the number of Derpibooru hits for art of her on less than two hands (seven total, by my count, if we discount pictures of the action figure and associated packaging).

Which is a shame; even the action figure has a certain je ne sais quoi about it.

I’ll be honest, the part I’m most looking forward to is the explanation of the Checkers. I’m calling it right now, that was Flitterheart’s idea.

Also, this is sadly not the sixteenth story to go into the not-a-contest bookshelf, which is kind of a shame. Still, only missed by one.

a certain je ne sais quoi

I'm reminded of something that happened to me in real life because I'm only kept from Aragon levels of "my life is a sitcom" by mostly staying away from people. Anyway, because I don't actually speak French despite living in Canada for my entire life, I had to ask someone what this meant after they used it... and my followup question of "no seriously, what does it mean" was legitimate even if it's also a classic joke in this sort of context.

I figured by the time I posted, most people who were interested would have already seen it was up, but for anyone who came in late. . .

Maybe she is. The only two official arts of her have her with Twilight’s manestyle or with Rarity’s.

As used, it means that the pony has an indescribable quality about her.

But the literal translation is closer to "I don't know" or "I can't say" and that's the response I got. Needless to say, he was better at communicating things than Abbott or Costello so things were cleared up fairly quickly.

Yes, that’s true, and I’ll be honest, I doubt it’s got the same meaning in English writing that it does in actual French. Although I could be wrong about that, I can’t say. :derpytongue2:
