You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

Last Pony on Earth Print Run · 4:16pm Jul 10th, 2019

Check it out: https://igg.me/at/lpoe

Hey everybody! It's been a long time since The Last Pony on Earth was published. At the time, it was the first story I'd ever written that got really noticed on Fimfiction. I remember reading and responding to every single comment on a story that I updated every single day.

It's been a few years since then. The series has wound down towards a conclusion, a million words later. I made a ton of new friends (the Discord Community is still up, by the way, and bigger than ever, though we've since broadened things to be about all my writing and just pony fiction in general).

In these last few years, I've learned about self publishing. A few months ago, I shipped over 150 copies of Message in a Bottle to readers all over the world. But the time has finally come to bring things back to the story that started the PaP series. It's time to make sure that Lonely Day's journal survives into the distant future, by printing as many copies of it as possible.

The specific details of the campaign are on the book's Indiegogo: https://igg.me/at/lpoe

The short summary is that I'll be selling a full color hardback for $30, and a black and white softcover for $20. International shipping won't be anything like as expensive as it was with Message in a Bottle, as I've made arrangements with an international distributor and significantly cut costs. Only those countries my distributor cannot reach (outside the US, UK, Canada, the EU, and Australia) will have the previous shipping rate.

The story will also include 12,000 words of original fiction, which will not be seen outside the print edition of LPoE. These chapters take place after the events of the original story, and are meant to connect LPoE to founders a little more organically, showing some developments between our characters that were only described in hindsight previously. It's written entirely in the original style, and features five new illustrations in that style as well. Zutcha has returned to reprise his role as the artist in the series, which I'm thrilled about. He also did the cover, just like the last one.

It's time to make sure that Lucky Break's journal survives into the distant future, by printing as many copies of it as possible.

Is Lonely Day called Lucky Break now, or...?

No, that's what happens when you write a blog at four in the morning.:rainbowlaugh:

The crossover event we didn't know we needed! :rainbowlaugh:

I'll get on drawing those scenes right now!
... or maybe not...

Lucky was the main character of the first half of Message In A Bottle

I'll admit, I was 100% thinking of Second Chance when I typed that

I'm reading this story for the first time right now, and have done well so far to avoid spoilers in the comments. So this book... This is truly tempting.

Well you've got plenty of time to finish the story before the deadline arrives to make your decision >.>

Welp, I guess this means it's finally time to take this story off my "Read Later" shelf... :twilightsheepish:
