State of the Scribe: April 2024 · 9:05pm April 1st
You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.
Last month didn't quite go the way I wanted, turns out I have several large kidney stones. Been working my way through them over the second half of March, and still dealing with them today. Fortunately I've got the backlog of what's owed, so at least the ongoing stories won't be delayed. But I won't be launching anything new until I recover.
Last month spelled the end of Beyond the Veil of Sleep, two years in the making. I've got cool stuff coming to keep the slate filled, but I don't want to talk much about it right now. Hopefully I have a positive report about my recovery to share next month, and I can really get down to my plans for the rest of the year.
Until then, a huge thanks to the patrons who continue to support me, because without you I'm not sure I'd be able to cover my medical expenses. You're lifesavers this month, more literally than usual.

I can confirm that it's no prank. He was talking about it on Discord last week. The date is just coincidental here.
I know all about kidney stones, having suffered with them since 2002. Fortunately, not recently.
All I can say is get help when you need to, and remember that this, too, shall pass. Eventually. Sometime. One I had was lodged for a MONTH, even during a business trip...
