Story Promotion: Freeing Gallus · 9:43am May 21st, 2019
Okay, I know that this promotion is a bit overdue, since the story itself already finished up a while back. However, I wanted to give a quick shout-out to my buddy CrackedInkWell for writing one of the most unique and cute GallBar stories on this site (so far): Freeing Gallus
Not only was the overall story adorably fun, but it gave a great look into the Student Six that felt realistic and... oddly canon. I mean yeah, I know that Season 9 kinda killed the GallBar dream with the episode She's All Yak (and to be honest, I don't hate the current ship since Yona deserves some love~), but this story really gave a feasible setup to bring Gallus and Sandbar together as dedicated friends, and also as possible future mates. Nothing felt out of place, and the story as a whole carried enough depth to keep me invested in how things would go for the two.
Not to mention, the big reason I'm promoting this story is because it features two of my Original Characters: Troy and Canvas Clawston from my magnum opus series Brushed Away. Due to the gay pony/gryphon ship in this story, I wasn't too surprised when the author asked to use my personal OCs for additional depth. And to be perfectly honest, I love when people are enamored enough with my couple to want to write/draw things of them! All I usually need is permission from whomever was curious about using them, since I like to keep an open mind in regards to interpretation. And fortunately for this story, I can safely say that CrackedInkWell did a fabulous job writing both of them in realistic and entertaining ways! They really acted the same way I would've written them myself (although, I'll admit I added a lot of input for the author during his writings), and the end result was really satisfying. I already had this story featured in the Cameo Appearances section of my Troy and Canvas group, but their presence in the story overall gave them a prime spot in the main section as well! So congratulations, CrackedInkWell! Your story is as close to being in the Brushed Away canon as an outside author could get~ ;)
So without further ado, I highly recommend you guys go and check out his story if you get the time. Unless you haven't read the Brushed Away stories yet; in which case, what the hell is wrong with you?! Read them! They're great!
