Currently in the car on the way to Babscon 2019. (Don't worry, I'm not typing as I drive -- Rocket Lawn Chair and Caliaponia and I are carpooling.) See some of you there!
There may be an author room party; there's been some discussion back and forth on Discord. If not -- or perhaps in addition -- there may be a booze-and-board-games semiprivate party; I brought a bunch of narrative and word and creative games (Once Upon A Time, Codenames, Purple Prose, Superfight, The Quiet Year). There will definitely be my infamous drunken pony Tarot readings (serious inquiries only), and I brought my Twilight Sparkle's Secret Shippfic Folder deck so I can do even more ridiculous cartomancy.

And if you're not, why not join this weekend's Writeoff? You've got about 60 hours left to write 2000 to 8000 words, which are submitted anonymously and judged (and reviewed!) by the community. It's a fantastic way to put yourself on a deadline if you need a push for your productivity, and the feedback is invaluable.

Highly recommended. You can just go buy the PDF and print it out for instant gratification; the other materials you need (pens and paper, a deck of ordinary playing cards, a stack of pennies or game chits for Contempt) are all readily available.
I sprung for a deluxe set a while back (I forget it if they're regularly available or if it was a kickstarter thing). Got a deck of custom cards with the game prompts and some little contempt skulls. I'm bringing that with me to the con.

The author energy is pretty low key this year and tonight is also the dance, so it looks like the author gather is just gonna be booze and board games on Saturday afternoon and/or evening.

Got there just after the 230 fic panel ended. surprised to see two crackfic panels, but at least the reading of the crackifcs made it far funnier than reading it. Hope to see you tomorrow! Hopefully the /mlp/ party is tomorrow too.

Probably gonna start trying to round people up beginning at 3-4 or so. There was talk of watching this weekend’s episode and/or the GOT finale. Then can chill and get dinner and play games a while.
