End of part 1 - Private's Sacrifice. · 7:57pm Mar 29th, 2019
Warning, if you haven't read chapter 12 yet of the Last of the Dark Ponies, you should be aware this contains spoilers. 
So while Hail King Sombra was editing chapter 12, we did discuss the chapter via the comment feature in google docs, and near the end suggested I talk about one comment I made in a blog and I figured, eh what the heck.
If you have read chapter 12 by now and you really should before I go into this next line, 
you saw Private make a desperate attempt to distract Sombra from further experimenting on Barricade by basically offering himself to the king, saying he's "totally given in to all his innuendos and suggestive teasing." King Sombra of course didn't buy it for a second, but figured "eh, what the heck."
I had been building up to this point and this whole last segment is kind of supposed to be Private's heroic moment, finally stepping up the plate to protect his brother. Much like Barricade tried his best to protect him in Possession. Yes the brothers have quite switched the roles in this story.
I kind of did cut out Private's hero moment in Possession when I changed the intended ending for that story. (More about that here) I have always kind of regretted that he really is just being dragged along while everybody else does something, even Barricade gets a shining example of that deep down he really is just a jerk with a heart of gold (slightly tarnished) when he dives to save Spicy Hot from Sombra knowing full well that Sombra will hurt him for it.
Since this is a T rated story, nothing descriptive will be written, in fact I never had any intention anyway to write anything descriptive, even if I had rated the story M, I wouldn't have. I just don't think it's appropriate for this situation, it just feels like it distracts from the main point of what just happened. Private finally doing something proactive and mildly heroic.
I have to confess though, I actually had second thoughts having Private do this and almost cancelled it, I discussed the idea a while back (we are talking a year or two back) with Hail King Sombra when I was having those second thoughts and she convinced me to go a head with it anyway. I'm glad I ended up going ahead with it, because even though Private is not exactly the type to go on adventures or putting himself in dangerous situations, if finally pushed hard enough, he will try, he's just not a fighter like Barricade.
Hail King Sombra is a she!?!? Go ahead I guess.

This kind of reminds me of when everybody was surprised I was a guy when I joined a TMNT fan community 14 years ago, where the vast majority were in fact girls. When that forum was at it's most active, I think there were only six of us guys who were the most active at any given time.
