So uh, pre and post Easter work week... · 9:20am April 5th
Kind of kicked my ass from here to Antarctica.
Like seriously, I was well aware that Easter week is our busiest week at my job. I've worked there almost five years by now, but holy moly it was crazier than usual this time, honestly had to use the entire Easter break to recover. Barely had energy to use keyboard to form words.
Then came.... post Easter week, this week..... we realized we were doomed because it fell on the beginning of a month.
To fully understand, I work for Iceland's largest shipping company. We ship for majority of the food production companies here and other supply companies that well supply most of the big retail and grocery stores in this country. Due to that generally, the first week of a month is always the craziest, stores are getting huge chunk of their monthly inventory shipped in and guess who is doing the shipping. Yeah, my workplace.
We take long Easter breaks here, so we get Thursday, Friday, and Monday off. So, there is not much shipping happening for five days—not until Tuesday, which this time around happened to be at the beginning of the month.

So I will be spending this weekend, again recovering. Hopefully next week will be more merciful, and I'll actually have something more writing related to the report.
On a more positive note, at the end of May, I'll be going to Japan on my summer vacation.
No, I don't really watch Anime, or read manga, or have any hobbies related to any Japanese cultural phenomenons. Well, I play Pokemon if that counts.
So why Japan? It's a country I haven't visited yet, I like traveling in general and figured, hey let's go somewhere really far this time and Japan was the furthest I could reasonably afford, plus I wanted to finally cross Asia properly off as a continent I've visited on my list. That few-hour layovers in Singapore sixteen years ago when going to Australia barely counts.
After that, I only have two more continents to visit: South America and Antarctica. Oooh, I could go to Argentina and from there to Antarctica, two for one. Eventually, let's just focus on Japan for now.
