Status updates keep happening, I'm on a roll. - Temor's Hunt preview at the end. · 7:46am March 9th

Alright no silly posts this time, no milestone blog celebration or absurd way of simply saying I updated my user page.

It's time for status updates!! :rainbowdetermined2:

I seem to be settling on Saturdays again for those. :rainbowhuh:

So yes, two stories are slowly taking form.

One that focuses on where Foxy Stripes and Coal have disappeared to. Those who have read Herding Inquiries will have noted that they no longer live in the same house as the Herd. A brief explanation is given in that story, but considering the roles Foxy has so far had in the Equestria Tales, I think it's only fair that there is a story explaining the how and why.

So the working title is very bland and boring "Blackberry" I might end up changing that once I have scribbled more down in this story. Still a bit up in the air if this will be a one-shot or two or three chapters in length.

The second story is meant to give more time to pass in the Equestia Tales world and touch on the expansion of Sombra's herd by one more adult member. However, as I began drafting up the first pages, I realized this would also be a good opportunity to further touch on Sombra's retirement and reformation plus his relationship with his mother.

So that means this story will probably not be a one-shot but a multichapter, not a long multichapter but a multichapter still.

So much for my plans to write a few one-shots before publishing Temor's Hunt. :twilightblush:

Um, however, the current working title is uh very spoilerish on who is going to be the newest member of the herd, so I am just going to uh refrain from showing that until I get another better working title for the story. :pinkiehappy:

Yes, yes, I know I can hide it behind a spoiler tag. Am just not gonna.

As for Temor's hunt, I have now fully written five chapters and started drafting chapter 6. However, I want to do some minor rewrites on these first five chapters as I'm still not quite happy with how they came out.

However, I've been working on this sequel for a while now and due to me practically disappearing for almost a year. I'm going to give here a sneak peek from Temor's hunt.

Enjoy:

"I think it’s time we test that mirror,” the king said and started heading towards the corridor leading to the mirror room.

Temor just nodded and jumped down from the throne and followed his father, halting when the king stopped at the entrance and started looking around.

“We’ll use her,” Sombra said, grabbing Lemon Hearts with his magic and yanking the mare over, who could only yelp in surprise.

Father and son then continued to the mirror room, dragging Lemon Hearts with them in Sombra’s magic. Temor removed the crystals blocking the entrance and the three ponies entered. The mirror still stood there, pulsating the dark energy, there were no signs of anything having come through.

“Alright, let’s see what happens if someone does go through. They have had ample time to put up defenses on their side,” the king said and proceeded to throw Lemon Hearts towards it.

The two dark gray unicorns watched the shrieking yellow one fly towards the mirror in stoic silence. Lemon Hearts only went half through, clearly seemed to hit something hard before being thrown back unconscious to the ground.

“Well, there is definitely an obstruction,” King Sombra frowned and walked closer to the mirror. “Maybe my other self put up his own crystals in front of the mirror?”

“You know, she was a good wine server,” Temor complained while poking at the unconscious form of Lemon Hearts.

“I didn’t kill her, granted she will have a killer headache when she wakes up,” Sombra grunted and started examining the mirror using his magic. “Yes, definitely something in the way.”

“Great,” Temor grumbled and turned his attention to the mirror. “How will I get through then?”

“Hmm, well, if my other self uses magic similar to mine, then my own dark magic should suffice if it is just dark crystals,” his father stepped back and looked down at his son. “Before we attempt it though, let’s make sure you can return without any issue.”

Temor nodded and stood still when his father grabbed the purple thunderbolt gem on the prince’s armor with his dark magic. The king started pouring energies into it before letting go. Temor glanced down, the gem continued to glow for a second before returning to normal.

“I’ve put safety spells on it, you can activate it simply by touching it with your hooves,” Sombra said and then turned his attention back to the mirror. “Now let’s see you go through it.”

“No need to toss me, father,” Temor said while changing into his own shadowy smoke form. He tried hard not to chuckle at the unamused glare he received from the dark king.

“Just get through before I do toss you,” Sombra growled and watched his son pour himself through the mirror.

That's all for now.
