Reviews of these stories by new(ish) writers coming in the next few weeks · 1:10am Feb 14th, 2019
Some while back, I asked if anyone who'd joined Fimfiction since 1 January 2017 wanted to take part in a special edition of Ponyfic Roundup, my weekly review article on my off-site blog, Louder Yay. I got enough responses to decide to go ahead. The stories are listed below the break, and the article reviewing them will appear within the next month. Thank you for your patience!
Stories to be reviewed
Every Day is Sun-Day by Silent Whisper
Fire Burns Both Ways by Blue Chameleon VI
Joy and Reflection by Halira
The Mind's Insanity by SILENCE_EXE
Muted Wubs by pabrony83
Terror of the Flutterbat by Discord The Narrator
A Week in the Winter Storm by Samuel-Neocros
20 Feb: "Fire Burns Both Ways" has been removed; see the comments section for an explanation.
If you're interested in seeing what I have to say, then please keep an eye on Louder Yay. I nearly always post Ponyfic Roundup on Wednesdays -- though it was a day late this week, so it's not absolutely fixed.
One other story submitted, The Life of a Quill: The Taste of Cold Steel by Quillian Inkheart, doesn't quite meet the criteria as it was published in July 2016. However, after discussion with the author I've agreed to review it anyway. I've decided that review won't be with the others, but will be part of a regular Ponyfic Roundup, and it also will be reviewed within the next month.

New-ish account, maybe.

Assuming you mean that it's an alt account for a more experienced author, I don't see there's anything I can do about it. There's no way I can know every alt on Fimfiction, and in any case many authors don't make the link public. So I feel I have to take "Member since" dates at face value. It's a flawed method, but I can't think of one that wouldn't be.

Fair enough, but you can go ahead and disqualify this one. The alt's no longer of any use to me, anyway.

Done. I quite like the premise, though, so I may end up reading it anyway at some point. (If it's still extant at that point. If it isn't, then I won't!)
