My Little Po-Mo: (Last-Minute) Signal Boost · 5:17am Nov 15th, 2018
Apologies for my brevity; I'm writing this in between shifts of a Search & Rescue deployment out to Paradise, California -- site of the Camp Fire, which making the news as the most destructive fire in the state's history. (And also breaking other records: the search manager said the 550+ personnel combing through the town today are believed to make this California's largest SAR deployment ever.)
Anyway: As of this writing, there's about half a day left on the Kickstarter for the fourth My Little Po-Mo book! It's already over the finish line, but there are stretch goals that can still be acquired.
Longtime fans might remember My Little Po-Mo as a deep analysis blog from the early days of the fandom (which eventually broadened its reach beyond the show itself -- covering a number of fanworks, for example, such as their article on Friendship is Witchcraft). I was surprised to find out it's still going -- and even more surprised to find out it's on its fourth Actual Book, which is what the Kickstarter is for. There's a $50 tier which will score you physical printed copies of all four books, which is a great deal if you love digging into canon as much as watching it.

I've never heard of this before. c.c Looks like they haven't updated since 2016 though, which is a shame.
"Largest SAR operation" honestly sounds like a good thing, if one ignores the record-setting disaster which necessitated it. :/

They won’t let us go out without one. And not one of those paper masks, either. They hand out full respirators, gloves, booties, and tyvek oversuits, and send us through decontamination at the end of the day.
It’s not just the fire. When homes burn, all sorts of chemicals get outgassed. Burnt insulation is either fiberglass or asbestos (in older buildings), and either is murder when inhaled. We’re sifting through destroyed houses sometimes for eight hours a day.
