Firstly, my apologies for delaying my participation in the month of spookery for so long. Best Kirin will be on display for the rest of October, courtesy of Badumsquish.
Secondly, if you'd like to contribute to an Equestrian bestiary of fantastic creatures both new and familiar, check out the Back When Tigers Used to Smoke collab. You do need to emulate a specific style, but the collab group forum has several examples of what you'd be working with. Plus, each entry is only expected to be one to five hundred words, so it shouldn't interfere with, say, a certain contest.

Good FOME sir, this is as good a time as any to express my regret that I must miss another of your contests.
As with Imposing Sovereigns, I've worked-up a concept that I feel has potential, and that will surely see the light of day eventually. But also as with Imposing Sovereigns, the timing just isn't working out, and it's time for me to stop fighting that.

Derpy is adorable as a Kirin, good choice FanofMostAnything. I wonder what she'd look like as a Nirik.

I have no idea if I'm going to have time for literally any ponestuff besides project management and editing before your deadline rolls in, but I'll at least keep the idea pot simmering on a back burner to see if anything floats to the top.
