Off to Worldcon! · 9:27pm Aug 15th, 2018
The roving science fiction and fantasy convention known as Worldcon — home of the Hugo Awards, and attractant for a giant glob of professional SFF authors, creators, and fans — is in California this year! It’s been on my bucket list for a while, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to go when it was right in my backyard.
As I type this, Caliaponia and I are in a car driving toward San Jose. We’re going to meet Xepher at the airport tonight, and iisaw at the convention center tomorrow, and collectively represent the pony contingent during the weekend.
Speak up if you’re headed there yourself, or if you live close enough to San Jose that you might want to swing by and meet some visiting ponefolks! We will have alcohol and board games (probably not at the same time), and should have plenty of leeway to join visitors, especially for meals.
