A couple of people have asked me if I'm dead.

Short answer: not yet.

The long answer is a little more complicated.

It's been about three months since I last posted anything. There's a few reasons for this. The first and foremost is this:

This is my big project at the moment, which I've given the temporary (maybe) title of Ruin. It's gonna be a long one, folks.

It's also going to be a long wait, because I'm not publishing a word of it until it's done.

Even if I want to.

Like, a lot.

As for what it's about, well... here's a hint.

In the meantime, I've also got this coming down the pipeline:

This is The Clearglass Affair (working title), a sequel to a fic nobody read. With any luck, it'll also be the beginning of a series, because I could write these forever. More on that when/if it happens.

Outside of writing but still within the purview of the site, I've also been working on this little thing. It's a userscript that probably nobody but me will ever use that adds personalized reading time estimates, average post frequencies, and a few other esoteric but useful things.

And, perhaps the biggest reason for not having finished anything lately: after a long period of uncomfortable unemployment, I've managed to procure a job.

I would be happier about this if the way it devours my time and energy wasn't so easily comparable to a school of piranha.

So it goes. More to come, hopefully sooner than later.
