After years of hemming and hawing followed by months of total insanity, me and mine are finally done moving house. Naught remains but the twin eternities of opening boxes and waiting for the Internet to be hooked up. Until then, I'll be subsisting as best as possible on cellular data and whatever housewares I can find.
Amid the recent madness, I've managed to keep going on the beta draft of To Serve In Hell (though now the lack of Internet is proving to be a hard stopping point.) I'm down to the final quarter of it now, and my focus has zeroed-in on a scene where Rarity visits Prince Governor Blueblood while plot threads converge all around them. This scene makes me glad to be working with a complete draft rather than chapters at-a-time, because I got it wrong the first time. Like it's just straight-up wrong. Hell has a Mystery tag for a reason, and the way this went the first time didn't pay off one of the bigger and more-teased mysteries. That'll get fixed as soon as I'm back online for real.
What I probably hate most about working on it is the choices I've ended up making about keeping up with things outside of immediate necessities. Like I'm way behind on whatever is going on with people or the world at large. I think, once again, that I might be done writing novels after this. I know it's not this time consuming to write shorts. Though we'll see.
I'm certainly done moving though, God willing. I can't imagine how people do this at all frequently.
Glad to hear you've arrived. Here's hoping the rest goes smoothly.
Huzzah for the new home! Glad everything is moving for ya there... or... done moving... or... congrats on moving into the house!
Congratulations on the new house. Best of luck and God Bless and all that.
