Howdy, all.
I've been planning out the next chapter, which might end up written in a way I'm unfamiliar with, since it's going to contain a lot of lyrics and singing. I keep having to jot down notes for the lyrics and then I will try and implement those in the story.
Chapter 22 is still a ways off, but I am however very proud of one scene; where Gabe tells Armor that she's pregnant, which I found both funny and heartwarming.

We know close to a year passed since there is a Hearth's Warming episode between Cadance getting pregnant and Flurry being born, so alas, magical ponies still have to obey the tubby rules of pregnancy.

I never got a good feel for the time frame during which Cadence is pregnant, and you can't go by seasons either since the ponies decide themselves what season it should be, which I assume is why there are only really two seasons in Ponyville: Summer and a few days of winter.
Anyway, I will not lament that ponies get rounder when they're pregnant. They look even more cuddle-able when they do.

Winter Wrap Up tells us that their seasons are indeed four and last three months each, so every Hearth's Warming is essentially a timeskip and good (and probably the only) reference for passage of time.
And yes, pudgy ponies just means more to cuddle.

Okay then, I guess spring and fall just looks like summer in Equestria. I guess three months of winter isn't so bad compared to here, where we instead get about six months of a nebulous winter-y fall with temperatures going up and down, freezing and thawing back and forth. That's so wonderful when you get a good 5-10 centimeters of snow, followed by a day of thawing, and the it freezes again.
Pinkie Pie is cuddlier than Fleur Dis Lee. I want lots of pony to cuddle!

And if you want lots of pony to cuddle, there ain't no pony that has more lots than Celestia. Just ask Gabe, that cuddle chapter was still one of the most diabetes inducing chapters to date. And for a fic like this that is a walking health hazard of diabetes, that's saying a lot.

I do like the adventure though. Most people when they write adventures have trouble avoiding the red tags and reach for the blood, gore and/or death in an attempt to spice things up, but this feels like an actual MLP adventure that wouldn't be out of place in the show.

Yeah. I've been thinking of sitting down and see if I can share my thoughts on that in a blog, specifically why both writers and readers gravitates towards certain things even when its not appropriate. Like how people always make trilogies even though the story would be better served cut into two or four pieces (or more). Why people can't seem to avoid the gore and death would be another thing to bring up.
The current chapter would perhaps be a bit out of place in the show in one aspect, I'm thinking specifically how the whole ordeal is mentally exhausting for Gabe and Armor and stuff like that, but yeah, it would also not be too different with it having some weight and clearly being important to the world without resorting to death and visceral violence to underpin how things are serious now.
Me and some other guys have talked about this on our digital lido deck. You can have dark shit happen in the Equestria in your ponyfic, with violence and death, but when you try and mesh that with the Equestria we know and love in the show, that's when so many stories falls flat.

Adult Human Gabe would likely not be as attractive to Armor and filly Pony Gabe would be a bad, and creepy, thing (because of her small size it might be life-threatening if she were to engage in adult activities with Armor, and she probably doesn't know whether or not she is physically mature enough to go through with it).

Yes this is an April's fools joke.
The thing with being physically ready can be handwaved with magic, but this is an E-rated fic, so them actually having sex wouldn't be a thing anyway. They might talk about it, in innocent enough ways, but they can't have it unless I bump the rating up.
But yes, I think that Gabe and Armor would make great parents together. What's the first one gonna be? Colt or filly?

If the show can stay TV y when it has child bearing in it, then I believe your story can stay E and have childbearing.
Besides, the difference between E T and M isn't necessarily the topic, since an E story can still have death, rather it's how you go about writing the topic.
Graphics death is for M stories, saying that someone was stabbed and bled out is a T story, saying that someone's parents died is an E story.

Also physically ready does not necessarily pertain to a characters body or age I also meant they have to have stable lives and jobs and a personal house, they also have to be capable of caring for a youngin physically, (getting up at all manners of the night to feed, change, and comfort the foal.) etc.

Oh sure, but when I started writing mlaabq, I did so trying to make something good out of the general concepts that all those forgotten, half-finished HiEs, so I kinda aimed to do things that it could be argued that I shouldn't have. That's why they're talking about the world wars in the early parts of the story– because half the HiEs from 2014 and earlier did just that it seems.
I guess what I'm getting at is that if I notice a desire among writers for something like that– the MC and a dreamy partner to have sex for instance– I might consider doing it, but I'm not sure how to make it work in mlaabq, at least not as it is right now. Perhaps after a time-skip.

4831033 I'm glad there won't be any sex in the story. All joking aside, it would detract from the quality of the writing. Perhaps a side story which details their wedding night much later in life, but I appreciate you leaving sex out of the story.

Oh I'dunno if it would detract from the quality of the writing per se, I think I'd be able to write a pretty good love-scene with Gabe and Armor, have some nice narration about the emotional fulfillment of making love with someone you really do love and sweet things like that. If you're saying that you don't like the idea of it; sure, I can't refute that.
Any seriousness I take on the topic though, is idle toying with ideas of what sequels might contain.
4831352 Well, I more meant that it would probably feel unnecessary (to me anyway), as the story is exquisite as it stands. (I wrote more than 700,000 words before I had a single intimate scene and most of my readers did not like the scene at all)
