How to start?
Let's start by the simple, yet relevant. My name is John, as you can see on my profile, and while i consider proper to speak or write to someone with their whole name (or nicknames, in this case), you can call me just John. For those who don't know, i'm the responsible for another crime against the MLP:FiM universe. You can check it out in here, or you can check the tagged story (much simple in my opinion).
Now, before you all get to the part of thinking "this guy is just making self-promotion", let me explain what exactly is this blog about.
As i said before, this story was made by me, adding me officially to the ranks of all the writers of the FoE universe. Yet, it seems i got myself in troubles. Why do i say that?
Because of this:
Ya plan a story about the Crystal Empire or Twilight?
By Dark spark.
When I saw the comment, the first thing that came to mind was the two stories already existing here on Fimfiction, the one about the crystal empire is this, and the one about Twilight is this. When these came to mind, I answered the guy who made the original comment this observation.
Don't rightly know if these guys will still go on with their stories, and I'm still kind of new to this of writing FoE. I could talk to them and see if they grant me permission to continue their stories (which i doubt, due to my lack of experience and how zealous of their work some of them are), or I could start ones of my own, with the risk of not making them as FoE-esque as the originals (which would ruin the whole fandom).
Yet, this is what he wrote then:
Exactly thats why i ask. I don't think they will be
finagedfinished.
In short, that made me think. While we have authors who are still writing FoE stories, like PonkPank and Schorl Tourmaline, there are multiple other authors who only made one chapter, or a couple more, but have never returned to work on them. The examples mentioned before (the ones about the crystal empire and Twilight) are some of them.
The one about Twilight was close to finish it, but ultimately, the author decided to cancel it, leaving it to make dust and forgotten. While I'm not sure how far from finishing the one about the crystal empire was, the author, while not cancelling it by word, has made known that she's not a writer, she's a graphic artist, so she wouldn't be the one finishing it.
Seeing this, I sent the two of them messages, in private, asking if I could help with their stories, to ask for their cooperation, or simply, to let me finish them.
It has been almost two weeks since then, and I haven't received any kind of reply, or even a sign that they saw the messages.
Earlier, I also sent a message to Non_creepy_nickname, asking him on his opinion on the whole matter. His answer was the same as the former.
Deep in thought, I realized that, while i respect their works, and also respect their position of zealous artists defending their jobs, the rest of us has the right to see this stories finished. While I would greatly like to see them finishing it themselves, i think we have reached a dead end with this.
And so, this phrase came to my head: "If you want something done, then you should do it yourself."
Asking another one to just go and do something isn't something a true leader does. A leader takes the lead and guides his fellow workers and subordinates through the whole ordeal.
Now, I'm not saying i'm gonna take charge of the whole FoE universe, but rather, that it needs a slight push forward to keep it in movement. And I'm not saying that i want subordinates, either. Heck, some of you already know I have Ponkpank in high regards, seeing as he's the main one still active in this matter, seeing as he's the author of "the princess diary", and also the creator of the comic "breaking the sun" (by the way, give him some support, that would help him greatly).
That's the why, seeing as my efforts of contacting the original authors are in vain, and seeing as NCN won't answer to me either, then I take the matters into my own hands.
The goal of this blog is actually an apology. An apology to Silent dream and to Poprocks, because i'm actually about to plagiarize their works. I'm going to take their original works and continue them, having asked for permission, and none being given beforehand.
I'm continuing their jobs, their original works, without their permission, and completing them. Credits will be given to them due to their contribution on the job, and the credit will be all theirs, because they started it.
Humbly and somewhat ashamed, new to the FoE universe writer, John.
Have a nice day.
