Sharing some of my culture. · 7:30am Nov 27th, 2015
While writing another chapter for a prince of true blue blood, i listen to some songs from my past. And suddenly, the idea of sharing this with all of you came to me. This song here is like... 40 years ago. My dad used to listen to this almost all the time (and I'm just 21!).
For all of those who have an ex-girlfriend after them, here you go.
By the talented Luis Miguel (Mexican dude, yeah!)
The title in Spanish is "If you didn't know how to love". Here are the lyrics in Spanish.
Here are the lyrics in English.
Si tú me hubieras dicho siempre la verdad,
If you've always told me the truth
si hubieras respondido cuando te llamé,
if you've always answered me when I called you
si hubieras amado como te amé,
if you've love me when I loved you
serías en mis sueños la mejor mujer,
you'd be the best one in my dreams
si no supiste amar ahora te puedes marchar.
If you didn't know how to love, then you can leave
If only you'd knew how I suffered for you
teniendo que olvidarte sin saber porqué
having to forget you without knowing why
y ahora, me llamas, me quieres ver,
And know, you call back, you want to see me
you swear you've changed and want to come back
si no supiste amar, ahora te puedes marchar.
If you didn't know how to love, then you can leave
Stay away from me, there's nothing to talk about
With you, I lost a lot, I already won someone else
ya sé que no hubo nadie que te diera lo que yo te dí,
I know there was no one who gave you what I gave you
and there was no one who cared for you like I did
por eso comprendo que estés aquí,
That's the why I understand why you're here
But time has passed, and I changed, too.
si no supiste amar, ahora te puedes marchar
If you didn't know how to love, then you can leave
Stay away from me, there's nothing to talk about
With you, I lost a lot, I already won someone else
ya sé que no hubo nadie que te diera lo que yo te dí,
I know there was no one who gave you what I gave you
and there was no one who cared for you like I did
por eso comprendo que estés aquí,
That's the why I understand why you're here
But time has passed, and I changed, too.
si no supiste amar, ahora te puedes marchar
If you didn't know how to love, then you can leave
si no supiste amar, ahora te puedes marchar
If you didn't know how to love, then you can leave
I'd like to know more about you, too. Send me songs or something from your past, like music, movies, games, traditions, etc. I'll reply with something else from my country for something you send me.
